Description: The person in this role is responsible for the overall operations of a transportation network and to lead the rapidly growing Final Mile Delivery Division. Responsibilities also include ownership of the day-to-day transportation costs, service level agreements, and performance metrics to identify and resolve problems, achieve efficiencies, and cross dock operations with an emphasis on continuous improvement of relationships with customers, independent contractors, and our employees.
The Director is expected to drive broad adoption of operating procedures with a focus on an unparalleled customer experience. This individual will be expected to lead by example and exhibit passion for performance and operational excellence, create, plan and implement operational strategies that will allow for a superior customer service experience. With accurate execution to allow to scale, the Director will ensure safety and efficiency in all transportation activities, partner with internal and external stakeholders to meet capacity needs and oversee the acquisition and oversight of transportation providers and develop policies and procedures to support the functional infrastructure.
QUALIFICATIONS:
The ideal candidates must possess the following traits:
- B.A. Degree and 4+ years of transportation and final mile delivery management experience over multiple departments in a 3PL warehouse environment, high volume large furniture distribution preferred with a focus on customer first experience
- Knowledge of warehouse, transportation and/or logistical operations including security procedures, improve loss-control programs, refining process control.
- Ability to calculate, analyze & apply business, financial & statistical data
