by The team at Home News Now took a cue from some retailers who come into town early for market and showed up as early as Tuesday before opening day to start visiting showrooms. Over the course of the next week, we collectively hit as many places and parties as possible, seeing the product and people that make this one of the industry’s biggest weeks of the year.
Below is a glimpse at some of the product highlights we saw not to mention the old friends and industry associates we ran into during the week.
The Products
Norwalk Furniture showed this sofa along with one of several new screens sporting some of its latest fabric selections. The fabric shown on the screen is also seen on two of the pillows on the sofa.
Urban Design Collective, which recently was formed through the merger of Urban Roads and DesignWorks, showed a mix of its new living room and case goods collections together for the first time in its showroom in CenterPoint at Centennial.
Standard Furniture showed its Kinsale sectional at market. Featuring three full recliners, it retails at $1,499.
Austin Group showed its Sophia bedroom at market. Made with mindi veneers in a dark cherry brown finish, the bed also features panels upholstered in boucle fabric.
Furniture of America’s 7147 bedroom is shown in a silver finish and features LED lights in the headboard and around the mirror frame.
Napa Furniture’s Irish Cottage bedroom is made with solid mahogany. The bed retails at $1,495 and a four-piece group retails around $2,900.
The Meadowbrook dining set by American Woodcrafters is made with pine veneers and mahogany solids. A table and four chairs retails at $1,999.
Best Chair showed this new line of zero-gravity chairs. Available in all fabrics in the line, these models offer six different seating configurations including full recline and lift positions.
The Oslo bedroom by Copeland Furniture is made with Northern red oak and shown in a natural finish. The bed retails at $1,700.
The 8673D dining set by Lifestyle Enterprise is made with oak veneers. A table and six chairs retails at $999.
The 2348 sofa by Decor-Rest features sinuous spring construction and has a loose-back box seat with a leather-fiber blend encased in a 100% poly-twill fabric. It retails at $1,899.
The Versatilis dining table by Sarreid Ltd. has a solid mango base and frame and an inset marble top.
This room scene at Hooker Furnishings’ new showroom on the third floor of Showplace shows Hooker Furniture’s new Retreat collection. It is made with flat cut cathedral oak veneers shown here in a light sand-tone finish called Dune. It also is available in a darker finish called Black Sand, which was inspired by the black silk sands found on the shorelines of exotic beaches of Maui and Tahiti.
This seating group at American Leather showcases the color story available in the American-made line. A portion of the extensive color palette is seen on the walls and behind the chair display in the background.
This is one of several outdoor furniture collections that Spectra Home introduced this market. The Calabasas group includes this sectional and ottoman in a solid ivory fabric. It is shown with the Pebble Beach slipcovered swivel chair.
This buffet is part of the new Tommy Bahama Home collection, Sunset Key, at Lexington Home Brands. It is made with white oak veneers in a light sand-tone finish. Retailing at $5,279, it also features a glass-top surface that was designed to mimic the movement of water.
Sligh showed this home office group called Silverstone. It is made with sandblasted white oak veneers in a natural finish. The desk retails at $1,729.
Featured in this seating group by Aria Designs is the Harper sofa. Retailing at $1,499, it is shown in a tufted chenille fabric alongside two chairs in a boucle fabric on the left and a striped zebra fabric on the right.
The Augusta dining set by Winners Only is made with pine veneers and is shown in a two-tone brown and antique-white finish.
The Santos sofa, part of the Carrara collection by Bellini Modern Living, is made in Canada and features wide track arms and high-density-foam construction. It retails at $2,799.
This chest of drawers is part of the Linq collection by BDI. It is made with walnut veneers in a dark walnut finish.
The 4269 power motion sectional by Nice Link Home Furnishings offers dual power functionality and features an extendable footrest. It is shown here in a neutral fabric.
The Skyline dining collection by Martin Svensson Home is among the solid wood pieces the company has introduced at recent markets. It features a solid acacia live-edge top and a solid acacia base in a Dyed Gray finish.
Flexsteel showed its Sky upholstery line featuring Cloudlux premium down-alternative materials. It features different seating options including sofa, chair and sectionals with slope arm, track arm and flared arm designs.

The Places
This is a portion of the Lexington Home Brands showroom where visitors are seen admiring the company’s new Sunset Key collection, part of its Tommy Bahama licensed furniture line.
Flexsteel had a major fabric introduction this market with 166 brand new covers aimed at providing retailers more selection than ever in the upholstery line. Typically it shows 20 to 40 new covers.
This is the product display at the front entrance of the Bradington-Young showroom, part of the new showroom opened by parent company Hooker Furnishings on the third floor of Showplace.
