NEWARK, N.J. (April 5, 2022) – Shifman Mattresses, a leader in luxury, handcrafted mattress manufacturing, honored industry veteran Dave Trillet as Salesperson of the Year 2021. This is Trillet’s second award in three years.
Trillet joined Shifman in 2018 as Midwest territory sales manager and earned his first sales excellence award that year. In 2021, his second top sales performance year, Trillet’s territory footprint grew dramatically with the addition of Macy’s and now covers 11 states.
“Dave has successfully balanced his responsibilities across all our retail channels in spite of the larger territory and has had a major impact on our department store channels, exceeding his goals by double-digits,” said Lisa Frey, national sales director.
Shifman awards sales excellence based on four criteria: overall territory sales revenue, client acquisition rates, existing client engagement and contributions to the overall success of the team.

Dave not only posted strong growth but also does his job with the utmost professionalism and heart with everyone he works with, including customers, RSAs and his Shifman team,” said Bill Hammer, president.
Beyond Trillet’s deep knowledge of the mattress business and consistent presence in all his accounts, Frey recalled his dedication in working closely with a long-time retail partner to refocus them on the mattress category helping them achieve 60% growth over 2020.
Trillet was recognized during the company sales meeting held during the spring High Point Market and awarded a plaque and generous gift.
A 33-year industry veteran, Trillet has wholesale and retail experience with prior sales roles at Sealy, Serta, Simmons, Restonic, and Art Van.
