HIGH POINT — On Wednesday June 7, HPxD’s Design Day is hosting an event that will educate the design community about the city becoming the first Certified Autism Destination on the East Coast.
Melody Burnett, president of Visit High Point, will speak about the initiative and discuss ways that the design community and others in the community at large can help make a difference in the lives of families with a special needs child.
“HPxD is exited to lean into this from the design perspective as we know how design can empower humans with special needs, and we hope that our community can create something unique and beneficial that further enhances High Point’s commitment to making a difference,” the organization said.
The event starts at 4:30 at the new Phillips Collection showroom at 135 S. Main Street at the corner of Main & Commerce.
Burnett will speak around 5:15. Also attending the event is Mike Peterson, founder of Science in Design.
