Magnussen Home Furnishings undergoes restructuring

Company also recently has hired new personnel, including Kay Canada as VP, sales

HIGH POINT — Full-line furniture resource Magnussen Home Furnishings has undergone a restructuring that has resulted in the layoffs of two executive-level professionals.

However, the company has also added a new vice president of sales and has recently filled other positions at the company, including in product development. For example, Kay Canada has returned to the company in a vice president of sales role, company President and CEO Nathan Cressman told Home News Now. He added that Canada will work closely with Christa Albrecht, senior vice president of sales.

“It was for no other reason than I needed to realign my business with a different skill set,” Cressman said of the changes taking place.

Chris De Lisa

Chris Di Lisa, chief revenue officer, and Josh Carter, senior vice president of product management, have left the company and are exploring new opportunities.

De Lisa initially joined Magnussen in October 2021 as senior vice president of sales, a new position at the time. In January, he was promoted to chief revenue officer.

Prior to joining Magnussen, De Lisa was with Universal Furniture for more than a decade as vice president of sales and vice president of sales for the Eastern Region. He started at Universal as a sales professional and team leader, a role he held for just over six years. Before joining Universal, he was president of De Lisa Power Systems.

Josh Carter

“The past two years I was blessed to have worked for an incredible company and owner, along with some of the best people in the furniture industry,” De Lisa said on his LinkedIn page.

Carter spent the past five and a half years with Magnussen. He joined the company in early 2018 as vice president of sales and became senior vice president of product management in January. Before joining Magnussen, he was vice president of sales and director of business development at Stanley Furniture where he also had been director of customer care. He confirmed his departure from the company on his LinkedIn page and commented that he was “thankful to the wonderful people I met along the way and the opportunities I had to learn and grow.”
