New Classic Furniture hosting 3rd private show in California

Jan. 23-26 event will take place at its corporate headquarters in Fontana

FONTANA, Calif. — Case goods and upholstery resource New Classic Furniture is hosting its next private show in Fontana this month, where it will debut new styles across several product categories.

The Jan. 23-26 event is the third private show the company has held at its 40,000-square-foot showroom facility at its corporate headquarters. The first of these was held in January of last year, followed by a second show this past July.

The company is expecting about a 30% increase in accounts from last January, said Scott Hill, president of sales and marketing. This is based on the feedback it has received so far from the invites it has sent out for the event.

“A lot of people are making reservations,” he said of the dealers that are taking advantage of the blocks of hotel rooms that the company is providing. The company is also covering the cost of airfares for those that are attending the event.

While he said it’s a big investment, it pays off for the company and its customers. The company has received strong written orders at both events held thus far and customers are able to get this product much sooner than if they had waited to see it at premarket or the spring or fall High Point Market.

“We can make decisions immediately,” Hill said of what goods to produce and ship. “We had goods on the water and in the warehouse by the time people got to the April (2023) market,” he said, noting that showing — and ordering — the product earlier than the spring or fall market cycle effectively resulted in four months of additional sales. “If I had waited until April, realistically you would be looking at 120 to 150 days until those goods arrived in our warehouses.”

At the January event, it will be showing five new bedrooms, five new casual dining sets, five new motion and stationary leather upholstery groups and three new motion upholstery groups in fabric. The new leather groups include a mix of sofas, sectionals, loveseats, chairs and ottomans, and the fabric motion groups include sofas, loveseats and a sectional or recliner.

Bedrooms are targeted to retail from $799 to $1,999, and motion sofas in fabric start around $599 and $799 in leather.

In addition to these categories, the company also sells formal dining furniture as part of its collections, as well as occasional furniture and youth bedroom.
