Maison & Objet winter show postponed to March 24-28

PARIS – Due to the recent surge in Covid cases associated with the Omicron variant, the January edition of Maison & Objet has been postponed to March.

The new dates for the show are March 24-28.

Officials announced the change after many of the of 1,700 companies that planned to attend the winter event said they don’t want their employees to take risks.

“The obligations of compliance with isolation rules, even when people are vaccinated, and the numerous work absences, are in fact starting to seriously disrupt the functioning of their services, supply or production circuits,” the show said in a post on its website. “Moreover, facing the peak of contamination, several countries are currently taking restrictive measures regarding international travel.”

Officials with show organizer SAFI, a division of Ateliers d’Art de France and RX France, said that they believe the situation should be improved by the dates in late March. They also noted that visitors who have already ordered badges for the January show will have access to the show in late March.

“By postponing the fair until the end of Q1, SAFI wishes to bring together the best operational and healthy conditions to allow actors in the art of living, decoration, and design to be inspired, to accelerate their development and to forge new business relationships,” show organizers said.

The dates for the fall edition of Maison et Objet remain Sept. 8-12.
