RANCHO DOMINGUEZ, Calif. — Diamond Mattress will introduce a customizable top-of-bed bundle at the upcoming Las Vegas Market, aimed at helping retailers build bigger tickets.
The Diamond Bedding Bundle, a first for the California-based mattress maker, includes two memory foam cooling pillows, waterproof mattress protector and sheet set with a soft-touch fabric and European style hem on the pillow cases and top sheet. It comes in a box that can be customized with the retailer brand, with the products packaged and ready to go.
The retail price for a queen set is $245. The twin bundle includes one memory foam cooling pillow. The waterproof protector can be sold separately for $48 retail in queen.
The company told Home News Now its dealers have been asking for something like this, noting, “They look to us for ways to increase add-on sales and also simplify the accessories process.”
Diamond declined to say what percentage of its overall business is dedicated to bedding accessories, but in a statement said it “will always stay committed to the core of our business and that is mattresses.
“Our customers look to us for add-on accessories, and we like to be able to offer a larger portfolio of products. We believe in the power of sleep and mattress protectors, sheets and pillows are components in the sleep experience.”
Also during the Jan. 23-27 Las Vegas Market, Diamond will offer a new Ultra Cool mattress protector ($108 retail in queen) with a maximum cooling technology fabric that never washes out and a “whisper quiet” waterproof backing. The protector has a four-way stretch skirt that fits any mattress type, keeping it snugly in place, it said.
“Offering convenience and value for our retail partners and their customers is always top of mind for us, and we want to make it easier to grow the ticket by capturing soft goods sales that make a lot of sense,” Patrick Wolf, Diamond vice president of sales and education, said in a release.
Diamond’s Las Vegas showroom is located at B-950 of the World Market Center.
