13 new SKUs include 2 sofas, 5 chairs, 2 floor mirrors, a matching counter and bar stool and a bench and bar cart

CHICAGO — Luxury furniture resource Marge Carson has unveiled 13 new pieces as part of its spring 2024 collection and also has launched a new website aimed at offering customers a better browsing and shopping experience.

The new pieces include five chairs, two sofas, two floor mirrors, a matching counter and bar stool, plus a bench and a bar cart. Each piece was created based on the design preferences of its clients, said company President Janet Linly.

The Becca sofa is 109 inches wide by 47 inches deep and retails at just over $14,100 for an entry-level grade fabric.

“Emphasizing superior quality and craftsmanship, these pieces are crafted to transcend fleeting trends and instead offer a timeless appeal that resonates with clients who value both style and longevity,” Linly told Home News Now. “Responding to requests for pieces that seamlessly complement our original designs, some dating back 20-30 years, we’ve ensured that each creation upholds our hallmark standards of quality craftsmanship and timeless allure.”

Pricing falls in line with similar items offered by Marge Carson, and final pricing is based on how customers choose to customize certain items. Starting prices range from $4,730 for the Spencer counter stool to $14,680 for the Enzo sofa.

The Jackson chair features wood and nailhead trim and starts at just over $7,000.

The items are made at the company’s Mexico source production facilities, and lead times vary based on the level of customization and nature of each piece.

“Pieces are meticulously bench-made to order, ensuring that each creation receives the attention to detail it deserves,” Linly said, adding that the company also is launching new case goods collections later this year, which includes dining tables, side tables and foyer tables, “further enriching the Marge Carson brand with a complete line of upholstery, bedrooms, bedding, case goods and accent pieces.”

She noted that initial response to the new pieces from retailers and clients has been overwhelmingly positive, reflecting a “deep appreciation for the craftsmanship and sophistication they embody.”

The Zeus chair is shown with nailhead trim and a gold-tone finish on the base. It starts at $7,749.

She added that the company’s new website, www.margecarson.com, highlights the newest product introductions, including those that are part of the spring launch, along with inline products by categories including bedroom, dining and living room as well as collections. Each item is shown with various images in silos and room settings, and customers can see specs and initial pricing of each item before requesting a quote based on custom options ranging from finishes and nailhead trim detail to custom fabrics, fringes and tassels, to name several.

The site even has pet furniture including dog beds priced from about $2,900 to $7,250.

“Our brand-new website has been designed to offer an immersive and effortless browsing experience, showcasing our timeless pieces with captivating new finishes and fabrics,” Linly said, adding that notable features include the “Request Quote” function, which helps “facilitate seamless communication between clients and dealers, while our curated collection of pillows offers Marge Carson clients the opportunity to refresh their cherished pieces with effortless sophistication.”

She said that traffic to the site thus far has exceeded expectations, with more than 300 quotes received in the first five days of its launch.

“This surge in interest from clients worldwide serves as a testament to the enduring appeal and unwavering commitment to excellence embodied by the Marge Carson brand,” she said.

What’s your first stop at market? “I’m going to do the insider’s tour (Hot Spot Tour) on Saturday. I’ll also stop by Bernhardt — it’s one of my favorites — and American Leather, which is positioning itself more as a luxury brand. It’s luxury but comfortable and very well made.”

Are you shopping for a specific client’s project? “Not this time so I’ll be focusing on seeing vendors I haven’t seen for a while and big furniture vendors.”

Company also adds counter- and bar-height stools to showcase with similar-style sets

HIGH POINT — Case goods resource LC Direct is expanding its dining program this market with a mix of 14 new sets along with new counter-height and bar-height seating options.

The new sets bring the total dining mix to 33 sets since the company first launched the program a year ago.

With the new additions to the line, the company also now has dining shown on all three floors of its downtown showroom at 126 S. Centennial St.

Together, they cover four distinct style categories: modern farmhouse, contemporary, casual and traditional. Groups include table and chair options along with servers.

Among the highlights are:

+ The Davos set, which features two rectangular tables, including a glass-top version with a single-pedestal, picture-frame base made with oak veneers in a Sandstone finish and a wood top rectangular table with a similar pedestal base, also made with oak veneers.

The Davos dining set by LC Direct is made with oak veneers in a Sandstone finish and features a picture-frame pedestal base.

+ The contemporary Genevieve, which includes a rectangular table with rounded edges made with split heart white oak veneers in a Caramel finish. It also has a server with drawer, door and shelf storage and linear metal accents around the sides and back of the frame that mimic the reeded detailing on the pedestal table base.

+ The modern-farmhouse-inspired Logan, which is made with split heart white oak veneers in an Antique Gray finish. The rectangular dining table and chairs also feature mortise-and-tenon-style construction details. A companion server features drawer, door and removable wine storage for shelves.

The Logan dining set is made with split heart white oak veneers in an Antique Gray finish.

+ The Mateo set has updated traditional design elements and is made with quartered okume veneers in a Vintage Leather finish. It also features a shaped faux stone double pedestal base in an Aged Ivory finish that contrasts with the darker finish on the tabletop, giving it a two-tone appearance that is replicated on the server, which features diamond-shaped faux stone doors in the Aged Ivory finish and a wood frame in the Vintage Leather finish.

Made at the Bangladesh factory of company parent Samson Holding, sets can mix on a single container shipped direct from the plant.

Table and four chair sets are targeted to retail from $999 to $1,999.

The company also has added counter-height stools and some bar- or pub-height stools for most of the sets in the dining line, allowing consumers to showcase them at a counter or bar situated near the dining table and chairs. Retailing from $149 to $199, the counter-height chair works with a kitchen counter or island and the bar-height chair works with a pub table or a bar.

Kevin Miller, vice president of sales, noted that it makes sense to add the new seating as it gives consumers the option to add complementary looks within the dining realm that are positioned near the centerpiece table, chair and side pieces. He noted that the same retail buyer that purchases the dining sets is the same buyer that purchases counter- and bar-height dining options for their stores.

“As we have talked to more and more of these types of buyers, these additions are a no-brainer for a company focused on dining,” he said, adding that “It’s easier to flow. They can mix and put it all on a container. The more related SKUs you can add on to a program, it makes it easier for the buyer.”

He added that the time is right to expand the dining assortment as “Dining is an area where consumers are spending a significant amount of their time, and we are seeing that in the way they are spending their money. People are still spending money in their homes, but very selectively.”

Shing Mark will produce occasional line with coordinating wood finishes in nearby plant

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam — Upholstery manufacturer Nice Link Home Furnishings now has 200,000 square feet of dedicated production for its Vietnamese-made upholstery line that the company said doubles its production capacity for stationary and motion furniture produced in Vietnam.

When the company launched its Vietnamese line last year, it was produced in a plant owned and operated by manufacturer Shing Mark. Nice Link is also leasing its new manufacturing space from Shing Mark, but the difference is that it is a separate facility on the same campus with 10 production lines and the ability to produce 300 containers per month, double the previous capacity.

Production is expected to begin in May. However, the new facility already has produced 23 collections of leather and fabric upholstery the company is showing at the April High Point Market. A stationary wood-base sectional produced in the facility is expected to retail around $1,999 in fabric and $2,999 in leather. A stationary three-over-three-seat sofa in fabric would retail around $699 while a leather version would retail from $999 to $1,199.

The 4282 Grandview motion leather sectional is made in Vietnam and retails from $3,999 to $4,299 for seven pieces, including two consoles.

A motion double power sofa produced in the facility would retail around $1,399 while a fabric version would retail from $999 to $1,099.

The groups feature wood trim and accents that coordinate with occasional pieces that Shing Mark is also producing for Nice Link. At market, it is offering 15 curated collections that work together with the Vietnamese-made sofa and sectional groupings. The occasional groups also feature mixed-media elements such as terrazzo and white marble tops that add a decorative element to the mix.

As the two facilities are part of the same campus, the manufacturing facilities can coordinate wood finishes on the occasional tables and the wood-trim upholstery, creating an opportunity for retailers to showcase the pieces together on their floors.

The 9648 Sidekick stationary leather sofa is also made in Vietnam and retails from $1,699 to $1,999

Nice Link’s China operations continue to provide cut-and-sew materials for the Vietnam-made groups, combining the resources of both countries.

“The dual strategy executed across our well-established China operation and burgeoning Vietnam business communicates to our current and prospective customers that we are committed to finding solutions and paths to mutual growth through the challenges of tariffs, supply chain and whatever comes our way,” said Jay Carlson, Nice Link president.

By using China’s expertise in cut-and-sew leathers and fabrics, Carlson noted that the company is providing a line that ultimately offers better-end product at a value for its customers, retailers and designers alike.

“We are utilizing everything that is great about Nice Link,” Carlson added of the quality fabric and leather kits provided by China combined with the production capabilities of Vietnamese workers. “We have to have better product.”

With the Vietnam plant, Nice Link will be overseeing the operation with the help of its expat team of Chinese line management and staff skilled in upholstery production.

Business, of course, will dictate how much of the capacity it uses in the new facility. But Carlson also noted that the model is designer-quality product “where the volume comes down a little.”

Within the same facility, the company also has the opportunity to add more lines to reach the plant’s full capacity.

“We have the flexibility to add more because we have the space and we have the labor,” Carlson said. “We have the ability to add as we see is needed.”

At the High Point Market, the company is also showing a number of new and top-selling upholstery groups from its China plant, representing a mix of “tariff-free and high-end motion and stationary products.”

And starting with this market, the company’s showroom also occupies the entire 10th floor of Market Square Tower, which provides a 360-degree view of downtown High Point. Totaling 16,000 square feet, the space has an additional 1,600-square feet formerly occupied by offices of the late Dave Phillips. In addition to a new kitchen and bar area, the company added three more showroom spaces with the additional square footage.

SANTE FE SPRINGS, Calif. — Full-line furniture resource Coaster Fine Furniture is offering a new mixed-container program created to provide multistore chains with several of its bestselling bedroom collections.

Coaster’s program lets retailers combine as many as three bedroom collections within a single container. Included in the program are some of the company’s most sought-after bedroom groups, including Briana, Felicity, Miranda and Watson, some available in a choice of finishes.

The Felicity bedroom in a white finish

The program also offers three brand-new fashion-driven collections produced in the same factory included in the program with inventory available. Each five-piece bedroom group includes a dresser, mirror, chest and nightstand with a choice of beds in queen and king sizes. Suggested retails range from $699 to $1,299.

“We’re excited to support our dealers with a program designed to drive consumers through their doors with fresh, affordably priced product,” said Don Deeds, vice president of business development and dealer growth at Coaster Fine Furniture. “Setting our mixed container program apart is that the collections are already proven sellers with appeal in every region of the country. We also did not raise prices to make these bestsellers mixable, so dealers have a great opportunity to capture shoppers with standout values while enjoying excellent margins.”

The Caraway bedroom shown in a black finish

The Felicity collection speaks to sleek, high-gloss modernism and is available with a choice of two different beds. The Miranda collection has ample storage solutions at an affordable price, a choice of black or white finishes, crystal-encrusted hardware and hidden felt-lined jewelry drawers.

Like Miranda, the Briana collection offers storage, including four foot-board drawers with a drop-down door on the right side. Geometric and clean lines combine for a transitional design with dimensional flair in a black finish.

Among the new collections, Caraway comes in a two-tone finish and features integrated LED strip lighting for nighttime reading and visibility. Trevino showcases a sophisticated metallic gray finish, with touch LED lighting and a wave-effect design. It also has English dovetail drawer construction front and back, along with center metal glides.

HIGH POINT — Massage technology and health and wellness seating resource Cozzia USA is introducing “Quantum” at the April High Point Market, the company’s most elevated massage chair advancement to date. Based on over 12 years of rigorous research and development in advanced technologies this introduction will completely transform the massage chair industry.

Quantum capitalizes on Artificial Intelligence already in use by Cozzia USA, while focusing on more innovative technologies to far surpass any current user experience with massage chairs. This revolutionary new massage chair continues to individualize each massage based on key user parameters while capitalizing on multiple advancements in Cozzia USA’s own technology and integrating them into Quantum, such as:

  • Fifth Generation Adaptive 5D Mechanism, which contains 3D and 4D technology, adds a smart sensor with real-time adjustments to the massage force by measuring weight and pressure put on the rollers.
  • Over 60 real-life master massage techniques, 27 high-precision sensors were used to construct a precise 3D mapping of a user’s body and a 20% expansion in massage width extending to 9 inches.
  • SL FlexTrack, a two-stage guide rail with industry leading adjustment of up to 167 degrees, allows for the most comfortable lying posture for a massage to relieve back and spinal pressure or adjust the position to achieve a true zero gravity massage.
  • Advanced leg and foot care with heated air compression, foot reflexology, 3D wrap-around heated knee massage and a footrest that not only massages but stretches the ankle and leg for improved circulation and movement.
  • Ergonomic airbag support in the seat considers the effect of hips, thighs, and the pelvic area on a user’s massage while the enhanced support improves posture and relieves lower back pain.
  • The Quantum can target and stretch the Neck, Upper/Mid/Lower Back, hips, thighs calves and feet or combine these stretches into automated partial or full body programs for ease of use.

“Our vision is to continuously improve the quality and overall experience of the massage to equal or exceed anything available outside of the home. Our fifth-generation robot substantially improves the depth and techniques of massage and constantly monitors pressure to ensure the correct amount is applied no matter the size or shape of an individual. This chair adapts per person, making it right for everyone.” said Mark Holmes, CEO of Cozzia USA.

Quantum is unlike anything offered today in the category of health and wellness seating in home furnishings with industry-defining features and benefits. This transformative massage chair builds on generations of technological innovation at Cozzia USA and offers enhancements over earlier designs to deliver the world’s first pressure sensing massage chair. With the industry leading FlexTrack and more stretch options than any of its predecessors, you can experience a spa day at home with Quantum.

John Cribbs, Executive Vice President for Cozzia USA, stated “The feedback we received with our soft launch in Las Vegas was exactly what we anticipated. Our existing customers, particularly our long-term partners, were excited and impressed because they recognized the innovative technologies integrated into Quantum would be game-changing for the industry.”

Below are additional features of Quantum intended to appeal to the senses and create a positive, elevated user experience unlike any previously. These sensory enhancements include:

  • Intelligent AI voice control built into the chair
  • 12.3-inch HD touchscreen control
  • 4-speaker 3D surround sound system by Monster TM
  • Chromotherapy LED mood lighting
  • Negative ION aromatherapy
  • Silent Massage
  • Full body heating with temperature adjustment

Cozzia USA continues to lead the marketplace in the health and wellness category with their innovation in massage chair technologies. For more information on Quantum please visit our showroom at High Point Market – Furniture Plaza #515.

And stay tuned for another product slideshow just before the market starts. For more information on how to submit product shots for that, click here.

American Woodcrafters showed its Regatta bedroom at premarket. Retailing at $1,999 for four pieces, it is made with hardwood solids and mahogany veneers and features a Champagne finish on the frames of the bed and case pieces and also comes in an alternate White finish with blue undertones. Sarreid Ltd. showed this dresser featuring a shagreen covering in a green finish based on one of the 2024 Pantone Colors of the Year. It also has a decorative paper in a similar color tone covering the interior of the drawers.

The Altitude console is part of Universal Furniture’s Griffith Park collection. It has organic transitional style elements.
