MLILY USA employees decorate, pack stockings for children’s hospital patients

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – When patients at the East Tennessee Children’s Hospital wake from their sleep on Christmas Day, there will be colorfully decorated gift stockings at the foot of their beds, courtesy of the local employees of MLILY USA. The employees spent a part of their holiday party on Saturday stuffing the stockings with toys.

The company’s 60 corporate employees in Knoxville and Los Angeles recently competed in a holiday stocking decorating contest. “Our employees suggested the holiday stocking contest and we decided to pay it forward to create a joyful experience for the children who are spending the holiday in the hospital,” said Stephen Chen, president MLILY USA. “Being in the hospital is never easy but it is especially difficult for young children during the holidays. Our team wanted to make this season as special as possible for these kids. The stockings we will donate are filled with creative items that will help keep the children happily distracted. Our hope is that we can brighten a sick child’s day and help bring smiles and a little extra holiday spirit to the children in the hospital this season.”

MLILY supplied the stocking stuffers, which included gifts such as playing cards, crayons, coloring books, games, stuffed animals and other fun items the children will be able to play with and enjoy.

Giving back and supporting the community is an integral part of MLILY’s corporate culture. The company is an ongoing supporter of Special Spaces, a non-profit organization that transforms the bedrooms of terminally ill children. In addition, the company has consistently donated to other organizations such as The House That Mercy Built, a safe place for women suffering from drug or alcohol abuse and Haibu, whose purpose is to educate posterity on global efforts for wildlife conservation. MLILY has also provided storm relief efforts for communities throughout the state of Tennessee.
