by HIGH POINT — At the fall market, Home News Now visited dozens of showrooms, capturing some of the latest design trends in wood furniture and upholstery. Based on what we saw in large and small collections alike, it’s easy to understand why there was a sense of excitement about the number of fall introductions.
From licensed collections at Magnussen Home, Lexington Home Brands and Eichholtz to some of the biggest launches ever at companies like Universal and Baker, buyers can expect to brighten their floors with a wide mix of styles and color palettes. In the words of one exhibitor, buyers were more focused on product design and aesthetics than simply buying anything they could find to keep in stock. And as inventories start to come down for many, it’s time to start flooring the right product mix versus whatever is available.
That said, we offer you a glimpse of some of the best of what we saw during the event.
This dining table from Baker Furniture’s Resort collection features a top made with stream onyx from Turkey and leather cord on the base.
The Turino credenza by John Richard is made with European walnut veneers. The Cameilla Triptych mirror is shown above the credenza.
This dining set is part of the Pleasant Bay collection in the new Salt Life Home collection by Magnussen Home. Shown in a white finish, it has Nantucket and Cape-inspired New England design influences.
The Noir credenza was added to Universal Furniture’s Modern collection as part of the company’s largest introduction to date. Made with solid mango, it features hand-carved vertical channels and a metal encasement in a dark rubbed-iron finish.
The Veronica sectional was among the new upholstery introductions at Artistica, marking the first time the company has entered the upholstery category. It has a soft contemporary design and can be purchased with various chairs, including a swivel chair.
This living room vignette is part of Bernards’ new nearly 70-piece Assemblage collection, which mixes pieces in different finishes, allowing the consumer to achieve a curated look.
Hooker Furniture showed this living room vignette featuring its Sophia sofas and chairs, which sport a soft contemporary frame in premium leathers.
The Ambria bedroom by American Woodcrafters is made with mahogany solids and veneers and features faux concrete tops on case pieces.
Flexsteel showed this dining set which is made with oak veneers in a dark oak finish and features a self-storing butterfly leaf.
The Dorsey occasional tables by Sarreid Ltd. are made with 25-mm compression glass and feature metal bases in a bronze-tone finish.
Best Home Furnishings showed several new lift chairs in small, medium and large footprints. Floor signage explained the features and benefits to dealers in simple terminology that can also be shared with consumers.
31/21, a division of Magnussen Home, showed the brand’s new upholstery along with some of its occasional furniture, a new category for 31/21 The 7003 seating group features a concave-shaped sofa and an oval cocktail table made with flaky oak veneers. The cocktail table retails at $699.
Cozzia showed these new models of massage chairs in its Svago, Ogawa and Cozzia lines near the front window of its showroom. The space also featured plenty of other new models along with signage and video demonstrations that communicated upcoming promotions being offered.
LC Direct showed the Drake dining set, one of about 10 new sets offered in the line. It is made with cathedral oak veneers in a charred oak finish. Featuring a metal base, the table and four chairs retail around $1,599.
This solid rustic cherry table is part of the Crafted Cherry line in the Ben & Erin Napier licensed collection at Vaughan-Bassett. Available in three finishes, it is part of the company’s new solid wood dining line that falls under the company’s Artisan & Post line.
This living room vignette is part of The Met licensed collection at Eichholtz. The nearly 100-piece collection includes about 30 pieces of furniture along with rugs, art and accessories inspired by pieces in the museum’s extensive archives.
This panel bed is part of Villa Blanca, the seventh licensed Barclay Butera collection at Lexington Home Brands. Shown in a white finish called Polo Mallet White, it has traditional design influences that are updated by the lightly distressed finish.
The Fiona sofa by Bellini Modern Living is shown with the ceramic-top Jackie cocktail and Jay end tables. The sofa retails between $2,499 and $2,999.
The Catalina dining set by manufacturer Meximuebles is made with solid parota wood and shown in a natural finish. A table and four chairs retails at $1,999.
The Xander dining table by Fusion Designs was among the solid wood furniture the company showed at market. It is shown with the Bailey modern Windsor-style chairs in a contrasting black finish.
Palliser’s extensive product mix includes this youthful low-profile seating group seen at its 220 Elm showroom. It is merchandised with signage that accentuates the young and hip styling of the line.
Napa Furniture Design showed its Lake Street collection, which is made with solid beech. A table and four chairs retails at $1,499.
Durham Furniture’s Lakeridge collection is made with solid maple and is shown in a dark maple finish. The bed retails at $3,899.
Royal Morris Living showed its Oak Park II sofa and chair collection at market. Featuring all top-grain leather, a sofa retails from $1,299 to $1,399.
The Stella motion sectional by Parker House features P2 functionality and retails at $2,499 for six pieces.
Nice Link Home Furnishings showed several new motion groups made in Vietnam including its 4264 sectional.
This seating group is part of the new Tamara Day licensed collection at Spectra Home. It is shown with the Sagamore slipcovered sofa, the Searidge ottomans and the Alhambra slipcovered ottoman in the center.
This entertainment wall is part of the San Simeon collection by Urban Design Collective. Made in Mexico with solid pine, it is shown in a lightly distressed Verona finish and has California-inspired organic modern design influences.
The Barrington home office group was seen at Sligh, a division of Lexington Home Brands. Made with oak veneers, the desk features inset raffia panels and retails at $3,899.
The Pryce oak panel bed was part of the expanded wood furniture offerings at Surya. It is shown with the companion Pryce nightstand and dresser.
