Fairhaven Furniture joins CDG

SAN DIEGO — New Haven, Conn.’s Fairhaven Furniture has joined the Contemporary Design Group.

Lao Triffin and Colleen Gala

Fairhaven, in business since 1981, was founded by Elizabeth Orsini and Kerry Triffin. In 2016, Lao Triffin and Colleen Gala became partners in the business when Kerry and Liz retired.  Despite being younger furniture store owners, they have each been in the furniture industry for nearly 20 years.  They’re proud to have had excellent mentors in that time and have held many different roles within the company, CDG said in a release.

The retailer operates an 18,000-square-foot showroom.

“The addition of Fairhaven to CDG is a great compliment to the overall strength of our organization,” said David King, CDG Advisory Board Member and owner of DoMA Home Furnishings in Tampa Bay. “We look forward to their contribution to the group.”
The Contemporary Design Group is a national association of independent home furnishings showrooms, specializing in modern and contemporary design.  Currently the buying/performance/networking group is 42 showrooms strong with 28 retail members in 23 states.
