Martin Furniture adds dining room, fireplace consoles to its mix

New categories expand offerings beyond its core home office and home entertainment lineup

SAN DIEGO — Home office and home entertainment specialist Martin Furniture is adding dining room furniture to its mix, a step that the company believes will expand its footprint in areas of the home where people work, dine and entertain, sometimes all in the same space.

The company said it is initially launching about 15 dining collections at the October High Point Market that include regular and counter-height tables as well as side pieces including display cabinets, sideboards, bar units and benches. Several more collections also are in development, said Pat Hayes, vice president, imports at Martin, adding that each grouping has either a china or server or both, as well as choices of arm and side chairs.

Some of the sets are designed to coordinate with other case goods in the line, including bestselling home office groups. Styles range from traditional to contemporary and are thus aimed at a wide mix of consumer preferences.

Made in Vietnam and set to ship in the first quarter of 2024, table and four-chair sets are targeted to retail from $1,499 to $1,999.

“We are excited to launch our dining room furniture collection,” said Gil Martin, CEO. “They embody the values that Martin Furniture has always embraced: quality, style and innovation.”

The company also is launching 15 new fireplace console units, another new category for the company.

Retailing from $799 to $1,599, the consoles range in size from 60 inches to 96 inches and offer a range of sizes in firebox units to choose from.

Years ago, the company expanded its offerings with bedroom furniture, including sets created in partnership with designer Curt Christian. However, it eventually abandoned the category to focus on its core home office and home entertainment offerings.

With these two new categories, the company is looking to further expand its appeal to retailers looking for companion groupings that can complement both its home office and home entertainment selection.

And by employing responsible sourcing practices and use of eco-friendly manufacturing techniques, the company said that the sets also have a sustainability story that “have minimal impact on the environment without compromising on quality or design.”

The company will show the new sets at the October High Point Market in its showroom in Space 303 of Market on Green. Dealers wanting additional information or who wish to make a market appointment can contact Dee Maas, vice president of sales, at deemaas@martinfurniture.com.
