by GUANGZHOU, China — While some winter shows have been postponed in Europe and Asia, other major shows on the March Asia show circuit are still on schedule — for now.
International winter shows postponed thus far include IMM Cologne, Maison & Objet Paris, Export Furniture Exhibition in Malaysia, the International Furniture Fair in Singapore and Birmingham in the U.K. to name several. These events either have been postponed or rescheduled due to travel restrictions and other concerns regarding the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
But several other major events in Asia that typically draw buyers from around the world are still set for their usual March timeframe.
These include the Malaysian International Furniture Fair, set for March 8-11 in Kuala Lumpur; the International Famous Furniture Fair Dongguan, set for March 16-20, the Shenzhen International Furniture Fair, set for March 17-20 and the China International Furniture Fair Guangzhou, set for March 18-21. A second phase of the Guangzhou show that focuses on materials and woodworking equipment is planned for March 28-31.
These fairs typically are held back-to-back to allow buyers from different parts of the world to travel from one show to the next.
Other shows in Asia planned during this time period include the Vietnam International Furniture and Home Accessories Fair, set for March 9-12 in Ho Chi Minh City, the Jakarta International Expo, also known as IFEX, from March 11-14 and the Vietnam Expo held in Hanoi from April 13-16.
