Adven Group recalls 1,540 Nap Queen hybrid mattresses

CPSC says units pose a fire hazard as they do not meet the federal flammability standard

MISSOURI CITY, Texas — The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced the recall of 1,540 Nap Queen hybrid mattresses that fail to meet the federal flammability standard.

The recall involves the Nap Queen 12-inch Maxima hybrid mattress, which was sold at Amazon.com, Walmart.com and Overstock.com from February 2023 through May 2023 for between $170 and $350.

While no incidents or injuries have been reported, the CPSC said the mattresses pose a fire hazard because they do not meet the flammability standard.

Made in Kosovo, the units were imported by Adven Group LLC of Missouri City, Texas.

The recall involves all sizes of the Nap Queen 12-inch Maxima Hybrid mattresses including the Bonnell spring mattress and those with cooling gel memory foam with model numbers NQIH12KK, NQIH12QQ, NQIH12FF, NQIH12TT and NQIH12TX.

Sold compressed in a box, the units are single-sided and have white with gray-dotted fabric ticking, a dark-gray 4-inch mesh stripe and wave quilted pattern on the sides and a straight-line quilted pattern on the top of the mattress. The tape edges are white and gray striped. The mattress label is sewn into the cover and has the model name “Maxima,” the model number and “Imported by Adven Group LLC.”

The CPSC has advised consumers to immediately stop using the recalled mattresses and contact Nap Queen to receive a free fitted cover to put on the mattress to bring it into compliance with the federal standard.
