HIGH POINT — Furniture First, a national buying group for independent retailers, has launched a new website in support of their new High Point building. FurnitureFirstonMain.com will serve multiple functions by incorporating a calendar of events taking place in the building during Market, a directory of tenants in the building, and a conference room reservation system for Furniture First Members.
“We’ve always called our High Point showroom a secret clubhouse for members,” said Andrew Kauffman, CEO of Furniture First. “They can come in and check out the merchandise and programs we have to offer, sit down and review their notes without being bothered, or have an adult beverage as they network with their fellow members. We will see even more members come through now that we will be easy to find in the heart of market, right on Main Street.”
Events for the showroom this October include and invitation-only grand opening party on Friday, October 13, a dedication and ribbon cutting ceremony on Saturday, October 14, a prospective member reception later that afternoon, and a members-only Best-of-Market Brunch on Sunday, October 15.
The four-story building at 336 South Main Street will house tenants as well as Furniture First. TD Retail Card Services and Knorr Marketing will be located on the third floor. Vaughan Bassett will occupy the fourth floor in time for the April 2024 Market. While the Furniture First showroom is closed to non-members, all retailers are invited to visit the Industry Service Center on the first floor where 15 marketing and service partners will have tables to meet with potential clients.
The members-only areas of the showroom will include a display of the group’s best-selling private label mattress line, Mattress 1st, in a scalable gallery concept developed with Jennifer Magee, owner of Retail in the City. Select merchandise from Furniture First partners will be featured on the first two floors. The second floor will also include a hospitality area, two conference rooms and a balcony overlooking Main Street. Freeman Kennett Architects’ design for the building is being built by Dunbar & Smith Inc.
Furniture First is a cooperative national home furnishings and mattress buying group serving full line independent retailers with sales over $2 million. Collectively, the group sells $3 billion at retail. A portion of the third floor is still available for lease, including the main street side balcony.
