AICO holds blood drive in conjunction with City of Hope

PICO RIVERA, Calif. –  Full line furniture manufacturer AICO / Amini Innovation Corp recently hosted a blood drive at its corporate offices in Pico Rivera in conjunction with the City of Hope.

The blood drive event was in direct response to the local and national appeal for blood donors following a two-year record low blood supply.   With the help of the skilled medical technicians from City of Hope’s Michael Amini Transfusion Medicine Center, more than 60 members of the AICO team along with local businesses were able to easily and conveniently make their blood donation.

“Giving back to the community is a top priority and we will continue to uphold our social responsibilities and provide a platform for our employees to actively participate in this noble cause,” said AICO CEO, Michael Amini.  “Our organization maintains the same values as City of Hope, to help those in need, and we are humbled to host blood drives that will make a difference.”

“The need for donors is greater than ever,” stated Martin Ploy, President of AICO.  Ploy continued, “Donating one pint of blood can save up to three lives on average.  Throughout the pandemic, blood donations have been extremely low, but AICO has always had a history of high donations.  We need that now more than ever and I’m proud of our employees for stepping up to help out.”
