by EMPIRE, Colo. – It is no surprise to have local renown philanthropist, Jake Jabs, once again recognized for his support within the community. On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, Easterseals Colorado (ESC) and the American Furniture Warehouse (AFW) team of employees will be partaking in a volunteer day at Rocky Mountain Village (RMV) Camp in Empire, CO.
RMV is a fully accessible camp used by more than 1,300 children and adults living with disabilities throughout the year. The camp provides a safe, barrier-free environment for them to experience all aspects of camp without the usual limitations.
The AFW volunteers will spend the day at camp helping upgrade boardwalks and trails, landscaping, beautifying buildings, and much more. Their day will conclude as they join campers and camp staff for a dedication of the RMV amphitheater renamed in honor of Founder and CEO of AFW, Jake Jabs.
Jabs has played music for the RMV campers over the years and has become one of the campers’ favorite times and memories at camp. Not only do they get to share in this special time with Mr. Jabs but they themselves get to dance, and sing, and experience life in ways they do not normally.
