Addition of 10,000 square feet brings total space in C-700 of the IHFC to 40,000, allowing company to showcase a broader mix of product in more lifestyle vignettes
HIGH POINT — Full-line indoor and outdoor furniture resource Furniture of America is expanding its showroom here by about 10,000 square feet, bringing the total to 40,000 square feet of space.
The expansion in its existing Space C-700 of the International Home Furnishings Center allows the company to showcase a wider mix of new and inline products across its case goods and upholstery segments. At the upcoming April market, the company said that about half the mix will include new products.
A majority of these will be in the bedroom and dining categories, and the expanded space allows the company to showcase more coordinating collections featuring both categories.
The new product will also include youth furniture, showcasing the company’s presence in a category many case goods resources have long since abandoned. Its youth furniture mix also includes bunk beds featuring the company’s patented lock joint system that combined with hardwood construction aims to create more stability.
“Safety is a No. 1 priority when we produce youth beds, particularly bunk beds,” said Jodi Brookshire, corporate vice president of sales and marketing. “We invented this patented system several years ago, and it has been an amazing feature that makes our beds a preferred choice among dealers.”
In addition to case goods, the mix also showcases upholstery in lifestyle vignettes, offering dealers ideas of how to incorporate and showcase the mix on their own floors.
“The new footprint will give us much needed space to show not just more product, but the new and exclusive items our product team has been hard at work on over the last six months,” Brookshire added. “Our focus is to show innovative new products as well as the enhancements we have been making to our existing product line.”
She added that dealers also will see new designs and product enhancements at sharpened price points they have not seen previously in the line.
“Quality always remains a top priority with the FOA brand,” she added, noting that the investments the company has made in QC and product development will be appealing to many dealers.
