Martin Furniture signs lease to occupy U&I Logistics bonded warehouse in Vietnam

Company said facility will flow goods more consistently to retailers, who also will be able to mix product from multiple collections on a single container

HO CHI MINH CITY, Vietnam — Home office and home entertainment furniture specialist Martin Furniture has signed a lease with U&I Logistics Corp. to occupy a portion of its bonded warehouse in Vietnam.

The company said that the facility, its first in Vietnam, offers complete warehouse and distribution services and is fully equipped with modern infrastructure, modern warehouse management software, barcode inventory management and humidity and pest control management.

Martin officials added that the facility will allow the company to flow goods more consistently from its Vietnam source factories to retailers in the U.S. It also allows retail customers to mix product from multiple collections on a single container.

Company founder and CEO Gil Martin told Home News Now that the company will start out by occupying several thousand cubic meters of the facility, but plans on immediately expanding into additional space as product becomes available from Vietnam.

“Because of the size and scale of this massive, automated warehouse, growth happens immediately upon request,” he said, noting that it will warehouse home office, home entertainment, accent cabinets, occasional tables and other products in the line.

He noted that the company initially will start shipping goods from the facility to its San Diego warehouse. Once there are sufficient inventory levels there, it will ship mixed collections directly from the Vietnam facility to its retailers.

It will start warehousing four to six of its top collections but ultimately plans to stock most of its collections in the Vietnam facility.

“We are very excited about this development and how it will contribute to the growth of our company as we expand with new products and into new product categories,” Martin said.
