Modway adds first American-made upholstery collections at High Point Market

HIGH POINT — Full-line furniture resource Modway is expanding its product mix to include American-made upholstery manufactured with Amish-built, solid wood frames that are available in multiple fabric options.

At the Oct. 22-26 High Point Market the company is introducing 42 new SKUs across two collections, Avendale and Laurel.

This sofa is part of Modus Furniture’s Avendale collection.

Avendale offers clean-lined sofas and loveseats in two sizes and featuring squared arms and two double-thick cushions or a streamlined bench cushion. It also comes in two fabric options including four performance velvet colors and two linen-blend colors.

Laurel is a more classic silhouette featuring wood legs and bolster pillows. It is upholstered in a linen-blend fabric in three color options. It includes a sofa, loveseat, an armchair, an ottoman and right- and left-facing sectionals.

The company also offers an expansive import line of living room furniture that includes sofas, loveseats, sectionals, accent chairs, arm chairs and benches.

It said it is expanding its offerings to include U.S.-made upholstery with customers and retailers in mind.

This upholstery group is part of Modway’s Laurel collection.

“We’re always keeping up with trends — not just styles — but keeping up with the market as a whole,” said Liv Stevens, Modway’s product development designer. “It just felt time to start expanding our production capabilities and branch into a new endeavor.”

Adding that while it is a little too soon to provide further specifics, she said these are the first of more American-made collections to come.

“A lot of care and expertise has gone into these collections right here in our own backyard,” she said of Lauren and Avendale. “They sit incredibly well and are very durable and are built to last. Having production stateside will drastically improve lead times, too.”

At Market, the products can be seen at the Modway showroom in space H-524 of the International Home Furnishings Center.
