IHFRA industry gala promises to be an October market highlight

Executive Director Ray Allegrezza says the new HPU venue and first-time retail sponsors will help make the FIAG event special

We may be in the dog days of summer, but my mind is already focused on October, and not only because I’m ready for cooler days.

Come October, we will be headed into yet another furniture market.  But with so many things still up in the air — too much inventory, too few consumers shopping, a still tangled supply chain, record inflation, rising costs of everything from fabric and foam to fava beans and feta cheese, who knows how the upcoming market will treat us?

On the brighter side, there is one upcoming event that I know is going to be a crowd pleaser.  It is this year’s FIAG, and here’s why:

We’ve changed the location.

In keeping with our theme of celebrating the best minds in the Class of 2022, we are hosting our gala at the recently completed and drop-dead gorgeous new convention and expo center at High Point University.

In case you haven’t seen this awesome venue, click here to see it. The university has a four-star chef, and he has worked diligently with IHFRA to create a menu that is not only delicious but includes foods well-known to boost mental acuity so

I can promise that you will love the hors d’oeuvres, cocktails, dinner, and the desserts.

Thanks to our change in venue, you are spared having to drive to and from Greensboro, something many of you told me you were not fond of.

We are honoring some of the best and brightest members of our community — people who have truly made our industry smarter, better, more efficient, and more professional.

This year’s sponsors, which for the first time include two retailers, both high on the Top 100 list—City Furniture and Broad River Retail—along with Ashley Furniture, AICO, IMC, City of Hope, Jackson Catnapper, Southern Motion, Planned Furniture Promotions, Parker House, Jack Hawn Consulting, and others have allowed us to throw our honorees—and all our attendees- a gala unlike any other we’ve done in the past.

FIAG truly is an industry-wide and with that in mind, we need each of you to support this gala with your presence and, if possible, a congratulatory ad recognizing the achievements of this year’s honorees.

So, please show your support for IHFRA, FIAG and our honorees this year.

Remember, united we stand, so please stand with IHFRA this October.
