Hooker Furniture adds 2 whole-home collections at market

Company also offering designer-focused events at its showroom on 3rd floor of Showplace

MARTINSVILLE, Va. — Hooker Furniture is introducing two major whole-home collections at the fall High Point Market.

This secretary desk is part of Hooker Furniture’s new Americana collection.

Americana, a traditional oak group, offers the look and feel of authentic heirloom pieces, while Bella Donna is a sophisticated transitional collection crafted with cherry veneers. Each collection has its own distinct personality, designed to appeal to a variety of consumers across many geographic regions.

“Each market season we work very hard to offer balance and variety in our styling relative to prior markets with the goal of appealing to as many consumers as possible,” said Mike Harris, president of Hooker case goods and upholstery. “For October, each collection draws from very distinct design eras, blending classic aesthetics with today’s functionality to create two looks that will resonate with a broad spectrum of our customers.

“Americana is a celebration of our rural heritage that reflects the character, strength and natural beauty of a simpler time, while Bella Donna offers a sophisticated, transitional look that offers a timeless elegance,” he added.

The Americana collection reimagines historical pieces and designs with a fresh take on finish, function, hardware and forms. Offering bedroom, dining room, entertainment, accent and occasional items, the collection is designed to strike a timeless balance between history and nature.

Crafted with oak veneers, Americana features three core finishes — Daisy, Honey, and Molasses — as well as assorted accent finishes with decorative artwork. Key design elements include parquet tabletops, two-tone finishes, architectural arched details, seeded glass and antique mirrors. Hardware includes classic bale-style and hand-hammered metal hardware, both in a muted brass-tone finish.

The second collection launching this fall is the Bella Donna collection. Characterized by its elegant forms, each silhouette is rich with shape and movement. Channeling Sophia Loren’s timeless sophistication and style as its muse, Bella Donna appeals to the classic consumer, but with a little “edge” to their design style.

Caviar, the primary finish for Bella Donna, has a deep translucent tone on rich cathedral cherry veneers. Akoya, representing the purest white pearls found in the world, is a perfect accent finish, adding sophistication and a bit of glam. Unique design details include reeding on select pieces that create a “curtain effect,” reverse breakfront serpentine silhouettes, glass tops, marble and exposed metal legs.

Adding the finishing touch, this whole-home collection features custom-designed hardware in a champagne finish, including both traditional and modern forms.

As part of Hooker Furnishings’ new Designer’s Theatre programming, the company will offer several design-centric events in its showroom located on the third floor of Showplace this fall:
