Kuka Home expands mix of upholstery with therapeutic air massage features

HIGH POINT – Kuka Home, one of the world’s largest producers of upholstered furniture, will offer an expanded assortment of air massage and heat capabilities in its motion sofas, sectionals, and recliners at the April High Point Market.

Therapeutic air massage is known to offer health and wellness benefits, such as enhanced relaxation and reduced muscle tension. Unlike percussive movements of rapid and repetitive pressure, therapeutic air massage has airbag compartments that inflate and deflate against the body to create a superior massage experience. Consumers can adjust the intensity level of massage based on their needs, offering added customization.

The company has streamlined its massage program to offer one sleek hand control for all frames. This control is exclusive to Kuka Home and mimics a modern smart TV remote. All frames with heat and massage also offer powered head and footrests and air-lumbar support. The heat feature has three timer options with an auto shut-off component for enhanced safety.

Kuka Home offers a married program of heat/massage in specific groups. In addition, retailers can add these functions to any group.

“This therapeutic air massage and heat program is part of Kuka’s strategy to add value and innovative functions and features to spark new business for our retailers,” said Matt Harrison, president of Kuka Home North America.

The therapeutic heat and massage functions are currently produced in the company’s Vietnam and China factories. Kuka has plans to add this function to its Mexico factory later this year.
