After a two-year absence as a result of the global pandemic, imm cologne is set to make a comeback June 4-7, 2023, at the Koelnmesse fairgrounds in Cologne, Germany. The traditional January dates were moved to June likely benefiting from safer health conditions and energy security during the spring dates.
imm cologne is known as the main industry event for the global home furnishing and design community. Excitement is building as new trends have emerged over the last two years addressing the need to integrate home office space within residential settings. The show days for next year’s edition have been reduced from six to four days and admission is limited to the B2B community consisting of furnishing retailers, interior designers, architects, planners, carpenters, interior decorators and dealers.
Segmented by price points, imm cologne will showcase lines for Living Rooms, Bed Rooms, Bathrooms, Mattresses, Home Textiles, Wall Coverings, Lighting, Accessories and Kitchen areas displayed in 10 halls of the Koelnmesse Fairgrounds.
Held annually, imm cologne will offer a platform for global furniture manufacturers and designers in order to reunite with the international furniture trade and design community. The last event in 2019 combined 129,000 attendees from 139 countries with 1,233 exhibitors from 53 countries.
A recent study conducted by the German consulting company Conneum in partnership with Modenus Media concluded that U.S. buyers have a growing appetite for high-end furniture “Made in Germany” as imports from Germany have increased by 26% from 2021 to 2022. This trend is fueled by a surging dollar and increased U.S. demand for more modern and minimalistic furniture lines that can be viewed in Cologne next June.
