DALLAS – Corsicana Mattress Company has named industry veteran Eric Rhea as its new CEO. He replaces Mike Thompson, who left the company last month.
Rhea comes to the company from North American Pipe and Precast, where he served as president for the last 14 months.
Before that, he was president of the Bedding Group at Leggett & Platt for more than nine years and previously served in other management roles with the company. He also served on the International Sleep Products Association board of directors for about eight years.
As he begins his new role, Rhea said he is focused on “renewing Corsicana’s value proposition as the means to continue the company’s dramatic growth.”
“Corsicana has an immense amount of talent,” he said in a statement. “In a short time, the team has aligned around focusing our efforts on our core markets, understanding the need to provide solutions for our customers, and begun to streamline the business to assure we are lean and agile. Our company is celebrating its 50th anniversary, and I’m extremely excited to join the team at this pivotal time. The company is rich in history at providing its customers with excellent service and value. Going forward, we will renew Corsicana’s commitment to unmatched service and value for our customer base.”
Matthew Kahn, who leads Corsicana’s board of directors, said the company is pleased to welcome Rhea to his new leadership position.
“The board believes Eric is the right leader for Corsicana in its next evolution, Kahn said. “His industry expertise and operational skills are some of his key qualities, and a talented team supports him.”
