CIFF Shanghai records 775,043 visitors for first digital event

SHANGHAI – Organizers of the 48th China International Furniture Fair said the event had a successful run with its first digital format, which had participation from 548 exhibitors and 775,043 visitors.

The virtual edition of the Dec. 11-14 show, presented on the WeChat CIFF Hongqiao app, was divided into four main sections: Cloud Exhibition Hall, Cloud Live Broadcast, Cloud Negotiation and Cloud Activities.

Organizers said there also were collaborations between CIFF and various external parties. This included a partnership with the National Real Estate Alliance that involved more than 20 brands interested in partnering with major real estate companies to help market their products to the public.

There also were 13 livestreamed presentations of new collections which organizers said recorded more than 10,000 views each and more than 100,000 hits alone on the first day of the event.

As of Dec. 28, CIFF said that five brands reported they have received orders of more than $1 million. In addition, exhibitors and visitors benefited from matchmaking services, with at total of 1,057 requests received online.

The 49th edition of the show is planned to be held in person from March 18-21 in Guangzhou and a second phase highlighting machinery and woodworking equipment will be held March 28-31 also in Guangzhou.
