TOLLESON, Ariz. – Ashley Furniture Industries announced this week it is expanding its furniture manufacturing operations here with a new 225,000-square-foot plant that will employ more than 200 workers.
This will be the company’s 14th manufacturing plant servicing the U.S. It will begin producing upholstery later this month.
While the company did not reveal specific financial details, it said the new leased facility represents a multi-million dollar investment in both machinery and equipment costs.
“The high demand for furniture has led us to increase our manufacturing, distribution and retail operations,” said Todd Wanek, president and CEO of Ashley Furniture Industries. “We couldn’t be more thrilled to expand operations into the state of Arizona. Local leadership has been very welcoming, and we look forward to working together on this landmark project.”
The company said it has already started hiring and will be holding an on-site recruiting event from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Dec. 8 for first-shift manufacturing positions.
“At Ashley, we hire for attitude and train for skill,” said Danna Szwed, executive vice president of human resources at Ashley. “We are proud to not only offer our associates competitive pay and benefits, but the opportunities for fast-paced learning and career growth.”
