Description: The Assistant Buyer is a growth position within the Bob’s Discount Furniture Merchandising Team’s training ground for potential buyers. This individual will work closely with a respective Buyer(s), assisting and supporting in all aspects of the merchandising selection and procurement process. The Assistant Buyer II(s) is ultimately expected to develop the skills necessary to make some independent buying/merchandising decisions. It is of paramount importance that the Merchandising Assistant Buyer upholds the principles of honesty, integrity and fairness when interacting with employees, suppliers and customers. This role will follow a hybrid schedule, with two days on-site in our Manchester, CT Home Office.
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication skills — both verbal and written
- 2+ years’ experience as assistant buyer
- High attention to detail
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and possess a strong sense of urgency
- Self-directed individual who can work independently and yet collaborate with team members cross-functionally as necessary
