ADAC celebrates six decades of design with annual Discover ADAC event Sept. 21-23

ATLANTA: ADAC is thrilled to announce that it will continue to celebrate 60 years of excellence with the return of its annual fall market event, DISCOVER ADAC with an incredible roster of keynote participants for this year’s event. From Sept. 21-23, ADAC invites everyone to delve deep into the world of design with inspirational presentations, showroom events and product launches by renowned designers and the most reputable luxury brands in the business.

“After a year dominated by Zoom meetings, we’re so excited to finally be able to gather the design community in-person again with this year’s return of DISCOVER ADAC as we celebrate our 60th anniversary,” said Katie Miner, general manager at ADAC. “Our commitment to design has always been to bring the best-of-the-best under one roof which has put our name on the map! This fall, it’s time to pay homage to all of the interior designers, architects, craftsmen, tastemakers and visionaries here on our campus as well as all the participants involved in the incredible market programming ready to inspire audiences and cultivate innovation.”

Join ADAC as it brings together some of the industry’s most notable names throughout the three-day event. Attendees can look forward to hearing renowned pop artist, author and entrepreneurial empress Ashley Longshore discuss everything from art and design to color and creativity; Charlotte architect KenPursley and New York interior designer AshleyWhittaker speak on what matters today, from prime livability to the sound old wood makes when you knock on it; Modern Luxury’s Creative Director and VP of Fashion, James Aguiar explain how interiors often inspire fashion direction with interior designer and HGTV alum, Justin Q. Williams; fashion icon IrisApfel discuss the new Maximum Couture collection and the details of her fascinating life; consummate entertainer and bon vivant AlexHitz and one of the South’s most sought-after floral and event designers Amy Osaba ‘dish’ with FLOWER Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Margot Shaw, about their takes on entertaining; and renowned architect JimStrickland speak on the art of creating a memorable home – both inside and out.

An awe-inspiring hour you won’t want to miss! LUXE Interiors + Design Editor-in-Chief Pamela Jaccarino sits down with renowned pop artist, author and entrepreneurial empress Ashley Longshore for a lively and empowering conversation. The dynamic duo will discuss everything from art and design to color and creativity. Plus, how inspiration, drive and confidence lets you achieve your dreams. Internationally renowned for her highly collectable paintings and brand collaborations in the world of fashion and luxury goods, Longshore is a fearless leader who continues to break barriers and push the envelope on her own terms.

Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 1:00 p.m. ET – TWO DESIGNERS MAKE A MODERN PLAY FOR AN AGE-OLD DECORATING DILEMMA | Mikel Welch, Robert Brown and Suzanna Hamilton
Join renowned designers Mikel Welch and Robert Brown for an entertaining and engaging discussion about the details of design wherein both designers create monochromatic envelopes that include clean architectural lines mixed with luxurious fabrics and refined upholstery to frame their sophisticated and deliberate selections of art and objects. However, the two differ in the details. Where Welch incorporates organic, culturally influenced objects for his roster of celebrity clients, Brown melds neoclassical furniture with mid-century art for his cadre of international residential and hospitality clients. Join Atlanta Homes & Lifestyles Editor-in-Chief Suzanna Hamilton in a discussion with these highly cultivated and urbane designers as they discuss the details that complete each project.

Tuesday, Sept. 21 at 3:00 p.m. ET – ROMANTICIZING INTERIORS WITH FASHION | Caroline Perrott, James Aguiar and Justin Q. Williams
Caroline Perrott, Editor-in-Chief of Modern Luxury’s Interiors Atlanta and The Atlantan, sits down for a conversation with Modern Luxury’s Creative Director, VP of Fashion, tastemaker, bon vivant and curator of all things chic, James Aguiar. Joining in on the discussion is interior designer and HGTV alum Justin Q. Williams. The pair explore how interiors borrow, share and inspire this season’s fashions and the two respective world’s symbiotic relationship. Using images from past Modern Luxury photoshoots as an example, Aguiar, with Williams’ input, will provide behind-the-scenes commentary on how interiors often inspire fashion direction. A special guest student from the Fashion Institute of Atlanta will also join to create a tangible installation using Theodore Alexander fabrics to create a fall fashion look.

Consummate entertainer and bon vivant Alex Hitz and one of the South’s most sought-after floral and event designers Amy Osaba, ‘dish’ with Flower Magazine Editor-in-Chief, Margot Shaw about their take on entertaining. Come join in the fun as Hitz regales us with stories from his book, “The Art of the Host,” and Osaba shares exquisite parties, floral design and tablescapes.

Wednesday, Sept. 22 at 1:00 p.m. ET– EVERYTHING OLD IS NEW AGAIN: TIPS FOR CREATING MEMORABLE INTERIORS | Betsy Riley, Tish Mills, Loren Taylor and Whitney Ray
Join Betsy Riley, editorial director of Atlanta Magazine’s HOME, as she chats with respected designers Tish Mills, Loren Taylor and Whitney Ray about why antiques can add character to any interior. Learn how reusing and refreshing key pieces promote sustainability and can also ease recent supply chain challenges. And for Style Director Haskell Harris, she often finds it in the architectural work of Jim Strickland, the founder of Historical Concepts, and his frequent collaborator, interior designer Barbara Westbrook. Harris will interview both about the singular recipe for memorable homes inside and out.
