Wayfair promotes Fitzpatrick to VP, furniture and decor

BOSTON, Mass. — Home furnishings e-commerce giant Wayfair has promoted Ryan Fitzpatrick from director, category management to vice president, furniture & decor.

In this role, Fitzpatrick leads Wayfair’s North American furniture & decor and category management teams, leveraging his years of experience and “deep understanding of the industry, market, and suppliers to help shape the company’s strategic direction,” the company said in a release.

“Ryan wields a unique and experienced understanding of our market and suppliers, embodying Wayfair’s relentless customer focus,” said Steve Oblak, Wayfair’s chief commercial officer. “His people-first mentality, deep understanding of the industry, thorough institutional knowledge, and strong understanding of our suppliers have all played a part in defining Ryan as the leader he is today.”

Since joining Wayfair in 2006 as a customer service representative, Fitzpatrick has made a significant impact in each of the roles he has held there, including establishing the company’s presence in the United Kingdom and building Wayfair’s category management organization.

“Throughout my long tenure with the business, I have had the pleasure of developing many of our key partnerships across the home furnishings industry and expanding Wayfair’s supplier network to build an unrivaled selection and a best-in-class customer experience,” Fitzpatrick said in the release. “As Wayfair has rapidly established its leadership position in home retail over the past two decades, it has been incredibly rewarding to see the success of our supplier relationships. I look forward to building upon Wayfair’s momentum and helping to drive innovation across our shopping experience.”
