HIGH POINT – Hooker Furnishings has revealed its plans to move its longtime showroom from the International Home Furnishings Center to the Showplace building here next April.
As part of a conference call discussing the company’s FY22 financial results, Company CEO Jeremy Hoff told analysts that the company’s legacy brands will occupy the entire third floor of the Showplace building, or roughly 113,000 square feet of space.
The new showroom will house the Hooker case goods and import upholstery divisions that currently reside on the 10th floor of the Commerce Wing of the International Home Furnishings Center. The other legacy brands include sister domestic upholstery manufacturers Sam Moore and Bradington-Young, which are currently shown in separate showrooms that adjoin the main Hooker space on the 10th floor of Commerce.
“Our Hooker legacy companies will have immediate increases and exposure necessary to achieve our organic growth initiatives,” Hoff said on the call.
Hoff added later in the call that the move to Showplace will give the Hooker legacy brands more exposure particularly in the interior design channel, which he believes will “feed into our desire to do more business in that channel. We also believe it will be great for our brick and mortar channel.”
It was not immediately clear whether the new showroom will represent an overall increase in space the Hooker legacy brands now occupy at market.
However, the Showplace building does offer amenities that the current showroom does not have, including an outdoor entertainment area.
Sources have speculated that this outdoor area could showcase some of the outdoor product within Hooker’s new Sunset West line. The company acquired the West Coast outdoor furniture manufacturer on Feb. 1.
Home News Now will update this story with details about the move as more information becomes available.
