Ellisville, Mo. —Mueller Furniture, a fourth-generation, family-owned local business, was pleased to provide more than $18,000 in donations to local charities this year, with plans to do even more next year.
Mueller Furniture has three locations in the Metro St. Louis area which includes their newest store in Ellisville, Missouri, as well as a store in Lake St. Louis and their flagship location in Belleville, Illinois, which opened in 1927.
Since opening its doors over 90 years ago, Mueller Furniture has specialized in providing quality, American-made furniture and exceptional customer service. Owner Mark Mueller said part of the reason for the business’s longevity is the company’s continued spirit of philanthropy, which has been passed down through each generation.
“My father taught me that good corporate citizenship is very important,” said Mueller. “Personally, I believe it’s one of the keys to a successful United States of America. In business, times can get tough, and you may not have any money to give some years. But in the years when the Lord blesses us, it’s important to spread those blessings. We feel so fortunate about the extraordinary year we’ve had, despite all of the challenges presented to us due to the pandemic. We’ve seen so many people who have made a conscious effort to buy local and that has meant so much to us. We wanted to make sure we were also supporting the communities we serve in return. This is just the beginning; Our goal is to double our charitable efforts in 2022.”
Mueller said the company made donations to local groups including The Child Center, Cardinal Glennon Children’s Foundation, St. Louis Backstoppers and youth and amateur sports leagues like the the Mon-Clair Baseball league and the Lake St. Louis ski team.
