Martin Svensson Home launches largest product introduction yet

Mix includes nearly 100 pieces from India, a new source country for the case goods importer

HIGH POINT — Case goods resource Martin Svensson Home is launching its largest product introduction this Market, including nearly 100 pieces being made in India, a new source country for the company.

The India product includes dining room, occasional and accent furniture, home entertainment consoles and some home office furniture. At least half falls within the accent furniture category, a new area for a company that specializes in bedroom, dining room, occasional and entertainment furniture.

For these products, India made sense because of its availability not only of solid wood species such as acacia and mango, but also its capabilities with metal and stone accents seen on various end tables, drink tables and cocktail tables. The accent pieces also feature materials such as woven rattan and hair on hide.

Martin Svensson Home is showing five new bedrooms at Market including its Mason bedroom shown here.

“It just expands our long-term vision of expanding and diversifying our business outside of source countries such as Vietnam, and in this case it is India,” said Stephen Sandberg, vice president of marketing, noting that India has been on the company’s radar since its start as Martin Svensson Home in 2018. “We have been looking at India from the get-go. It is about expanding our product offerings with the different capabilities they offer.”

The mix includes three dining sets featuring table, chair and benches and servers. A table, four chairs and a bench retail from $1,799 to $1,999, falling within its typical price points.  In addition, there are three standalone tables that can mix and match with various chairs in the line.

The table offerings include round fixed-top tables and rectangular tables with trestle bases and butterfly leaves.

The India assortment also includes four TV consoles ranging from 60 to 65 inches up to 80 inches and retailing from $599 to $699.

Several home office pieces also are available from India, including two writing desks and new book case/etagere units.

The company also is showing new product from Vietnam including two bedroom sets shown in Las Vegas and three first-time-seen bedrooms. These retail from $1,699 to $2,199 for a bed, dresser, mirror and nightstand.

Other Vietnam product includes a new dining set that is being added to the company’s Beach House collection. It includes a round regular-height table and a round pub table.

Finally, the Vietnam mix includes four new entertainment consoles similar in scale and price point to the offerings from India.

Sandberg said that the Vietnam product showcases some new looks that retailers have not yet seen from Martin Svensson Home that have been unavailable from Vietnam until now due to supply chain challenges.

“It is a lot of new product from us,” Sandberg said. “It definitely is our largest introduction.”

These and other products in the line can be seen at its showroom in Spaces 116 and 117 of Centers of High Point Hamilton.
