Motion upholstery resource also expands PowerBeds line, CloudPower motion seating
HIGH POINT — Midpriced motion upholstery specialist Luxfort Home is celebrating its one-year anniversary at the High Point Market by continuing to reimagine upholstered seating and upholstered beds in a way that creates new business opportunities for retailers, said President Lee Boone.
“Our goal is to create sales and profit opportunities for our retailers through innovation in the power upholstery, accent seating and upholstered bed categories by adding unexpected functional features,” Boone said.
Below are some highlights for the High Point Market:
+ PowerSeats — Luxfort Home’s latest innovation combines the fashion of bestselling accent chair and club chair styles with new functionality. The company is introducing 10 PowerSeat styles in performance fabrics and top-grain leathers that offer functions including recline, swivel, hidden storage, cupholders, USB charging ports and reading lights.
“Accent chairs are selling very well now because they are versatile enough to go in the family room, bedroom, den or office,” Boone said, adding that they are a relatively low-ticket item in a plethora of styles and colors. “By adding practical function to a popular, versatile silhouette, consumers in today’s smartphone world can now have a conference call in an accent chair, watch a video, read with the help of a reading light, charge their phone and take advantage of hidden storage and motion.”
These retail from $499 to $999.
+ CloudPower Motion — Luxfort is introducing five styles in its CloudPower category. They feature extra-deep, super-soft pillow-top seating in dual-power motion sectionals and sofas with zero-wall clearance and stationary looks. While conventional seating pieces range from 22 to 23 inches deep, the CloudPower selections are approximately 26 inches deep for a lounging experience, Boone said. Sectionals include an average of five seats, and the average retail price of a sectional is $2,999.
+ The next generation of PowerBeds — At the market last fall, Luxfort introduced a new product category for the bedroom furniture and sleep industries called PowerBeds, integrating the most popular functional elements of motion upholstery into bestselling upholstered bed styles.
“The PowerBed concept has been embraced by retailers across the country,” Boone said.
This market, the company is offering five new styles and expanding the number of fabrics available, with an emphasis on soft, high-pile covers. All PowerBeds feature adjustable headrests, Bluetooth audio systems to sync with devices and provide surround sound, LED-touch lights and wireless charging flexible phone/tablet holders.
All beds also ship with matching upholstered footboard and bedrails as well as a 14-slat mattress foundation, so no box spring is necessary. There’s also a built-in, patent-pending mattress-height adjustment bracket to accommodate a wide range of mattress thicknesses (12 to 16 inches). The models retail from $1,000 to $1,500.
These and other inline products can be seen at Luxfort’s 5,000-square-foot showroom at 100 N. Main St.
