ISFD announces Canadian Wood as 1st corporate partner

HIGH POINT — The International Society of Furniture Designers is happy to announce Canadian Wood as their first corporate partner.

Created to introduce furniture designers to new and innovative companies and organizations, the Corporate Partner program
provides opportunities to share news and information with ISFD members via the organization’s website and monthly email newsletter.

Our Corporate Partner program recognizes preferred industry suppliers who support ISFD’s mission to promote great home furnishings design,” said David Blair, executive director of ISFD. “Canadian Wood promotes the use of world class, environmentally friendly forest products from British Columbia, Canada. With specialists located in Vancouver, Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and India, they are a great resource for furniture designers and manufacturers who are seeking information and support for using sustainable wood products from B.C. forests. We plan to share with our members the benefits of using beautiful, resilient, and versatile Western Hemlock and Douglas-Fir in their work.”

“We are looking forward to introducing our sustainably sourced Canadian wood species from British Columbia to the ISFD furniture designers and manufacturers,” added Jim Messer, vice president, international marketing at Forestry Innovation Investment. “Wood species from B.C. are popular because of their natural beauty, durability, and strong environmental reputation. They are affordable alternatives over traditional hardwood species, are versatile and easy to work with, and are ideal for a wide range of traditional and contemporary furniture and home furnishings solutions.”

“ISFD is always looking for Corporate Partners to keep our members informed of the best and most innovative products available to furniture designers and manufacturers today,” Blair added. “Anyone interested in becoming an ISFD Corporate Partner can contact me at david.blair@isfd.org.”
