by Home News Now started market early, visiting some showrooms even as they were still getting set up. This continued though the end of market on Tuesday and Wednesday of this week, allowing us a first-hand glimpse at some of the new product highlights in both case goods and upholstery. In typical fashion, what we saw was a glimpse at some of the trends that will hit retail floors starting in the fall in forms, finishes and fabrics.
Below are some of the furniture highlights, spanning price points from the lower-middle to the upper end. Also included here are images of some of our long-time friends and contacts in the industry at the ever-popular social events at market.
The products
The Genevieve dining set by LC Direct was one of 14 new sets shown at market. It is made with split heart white oak veneers and features reeded design details as seen on the base.
Southern Motion had the second showing of its special-order upholstery line offered in The Mix. Featuring sofas that retail from $999 to $1,299 and sectionals retailing around $1,999, it features 1,000 base-cloth options and 100 patterns for chairs, pillows and matching ottomans.
This bedroom, part of the Aria collection by Napa Furniture Design, is made with mindi solids in a natural wire-brushed and hand-rubbed finish.
This 80-inch-tall hutch/display cabinet is part of A-America’s Provincial collection. It is made with solid white oak.
A.R.T. Furniture’s Reed collection includes this dining set with exaggerated and asymmetrical reeded detail on the legs and apron. Made with walnut veneers in a dark walnut-tone finish, it has midcentury modern design influences. This 122-inch dining table shown with two leaves retails at around $1,999.
This is a view inside Homelegance’s new 100,000-square-foot High Point showroom at 600 S. Main St. This market, the company occupied roughly half the space, giving visitors a glimpse at the massive amount of product will be in what will be one of the largest product displays at market for a single company starting this fall.
Martin Furniture’s Foster dining set is made with ash solids and features a travertine stone top. A table and four chairs retails around $2,900.
The Riversbend wing bed is part of EJ Victor’s The Point collection. It is made with top-grain leather and features a solid wood frame and decorative nailhead trim.
This is a glimpse of Bassett Furniture’s Custom Studio Retail Concept which allows retailers to create a custom upholstery gallery in their stores in as little as 950 square feet. Retailers can choose from some 500 fabrics and 100 leather options. According to company officials, the company placed 19 of these settings before market without dealers even having seen them in person.
This bedroom is part of Flexsteel’s Normandy collection. Made with white oak veneers and poplar solids, it is shown in a Driftwood finish. A queen bed retails at $1,199.
This updated Louis Phillipe-inspired bedroom by Lifestyle Enterprise is made with okume veneers in a black finish. A five-piece set retails at $799.
Standard Furniture made a return to the youth furniture segment this market, showcasing this vignette at the front of its showroom at Centers of High Point on Hamilton. A big focus of the mix was product that can be shown in dedicated areas of the retail floor with limited floor space. Many of the products as seen here also utilize the upholstery design and production capabilities of sister company Albany Industries.
The Milano bedroom by Meximuebles is made with solid parota and features bow-tie joinery and solid onyx accents in the headboard. The bed retails at $699.
This dining table is part of Key Biscayne, the latest Tommy Bahama Home collection by Lexington Home Brands. Shown in a light driftwood-tone finish, the table has a bamboo veneer top, while the apron and legs are made with natural woven accents. The chairs are made with rattan and leather accents.
The Apogee collection by Sligh features this L-desk configuration, which is made with white oak veneers in a finish called Sandscape. Retailing at $2,899, it also features hardware in a Champagne Leaf finish.
The Capitola cocktail tables by Artistica feature organic shapes in a dry-plaster-like gesso form made to look like tree trunks. They also feature antique silver treatment underneath the glass tops. Each cocktail table retails around $2,899.
Best Home Furnishings showed this group of chairs available in multiple leather options. In the background is a display of multiple fabrics available on other pieces in the custom upholstery line.
The 90-inch McMillan black leather sofa by Sarreid features a wood base and antique brass nail head trim.
Abbyson Home unveiled its new Abbyson HomeXJo Jo Fletcher collection, which offers bedroom, dining room and living room furniture, including upholstery and occasional tables.
Stickley’s Highlands collection features this sectional and chair shown alongside companion cocktail and end tables.
Baker collaborated with design and architectural services firm Gensler on this office collection shown at market. Made with both quartered oak shown here and a sycamore in a lighter gray-tone finish, the collection includes desks, credenzas, bookcases and other storage pieces featuring a mix of glass, stone and metal accents, including cast bronze hardware seen on desks and case pieces.
American Leather showed its Emery daybed in two different looks featuring leather and a chenille blend fabric as well as a metal base in an Antique Brass finish.
Copeland showed its Butterfly table made with solid walnut and featuring a self-storing butterfly leaf. The table is 96 inches open and 76 inches closed, seating eight to 10 comfortably.
Nice Link Home Furnishings’ 4272 sectional features cupholders and wireless charging capability along with built-in speakers. Retailing from $3,999 to $4,999, it is shown with new occasional the company is having built at a neighboring factory that is part of the same campus where it is building some of its upholstery line in Vietnam.
Wood and painted finishes were a big part of Braxton Culler’s story at the High Point Market. Here the new colors are shown on finish panels and some chair frames in the line.
Meridian Furniture showed a wide mix of bedroom, dining room, occasional and upholstered furniture at market, including its new Vaugn bedroom, which features this fully upholstered bed in a boucle-like fabric. The bed retails from $999 to $1,199.
Cozzia USA showed its new Quantum series of massage chairs at market. Capitalizing on Artificial Intelligence already in use by Cozzia, they feature a Fifth Generation Adaptive 5D mechanism which contains 3D and 4D technology and adds a smart sensor with real-time adjustments to the massage force by measuring weight and pressure put on the rollers. They also feature 60 real-life master massage techniques and 27 high-precision sensors used to construct a precise 3D mapping of a user’s body and a 20% expansion in massage width extending to 9 inches.
Delta Children, a resource for nursery and youth furniture, showed these new toddler beds at the April market. They come in finishes suitable for boys’ and girls’ bedrooms.
Vanguard showed its 56-inch-wide Brink cocktail table, part of its Compendium collection. It is made with bleached crotch mahogany veneers in an Almond finish. Another version, also part of Compendium, also was shown in a darker Peppercorn finish.
Worthen Custom Iron & Brass Furniture made its debut at the April High Point Market. A standout seen at the front of its space in Interhall was the Chamberlayne canopy bed, which sports a decorative crown and finials.

It’s a wonder people actually even saw him throughout the duration of market!
