LOS ANGELES — Joybird (www.joybird.com), a unit of La-Z-Boy Incorporated and manufacturer of customizable, modern upholstered furniture, announced its second collaboration with Mattel’s Barbie Dreamhouse. The new Barbie x Joybird limited-edition collection, available for purchase at www.joybird.com/Barbie on July 17, aims to evoke childhood nostalgia and add a touch of modern glam to any space.
Featuring eight furniture frames in all-new fabrics, the new pieces feature golden accents, multiple colors and textures and curved lines. It adds to the successful original collection launched in the summer of 2022 in celebration of Mattel’s 60th anniversary.
“Joybird has had “hot pink” in our assortment for years, so it was an absolute dream to take a page from modern-day Barbie’s style book and create a second collection where a bold, cheerful point of view translates into the home,” said Gifty Walker, director of merchandising and sourcing at Joybird. “We truly designed a joint collection for the customer who isn’t afraid to embrace their unique and fearless style, and live life a little more boldly. The Barbie x Joybird collection empowers everyone to curate a home that radiates confidence and creativity – just like Barbie.”
Pulling inspiration from “the timeless trailblazer, and her ever evolving style,” the collection offers structured upholstery pieces that seek to make a statement with a mix of jewel-toned hues plus alternatives to pink, such as saturated emerald and rich amethyst velvets.
“Fans and interior designers can easily bring Dreamhouse dreams to life with Barbie x Joybird,” company officials said in a statement announcing the latest collection.
The five custom Dreamhouse Fabrics include: Dreamhouse Rose Quartz, Dreamhouse Tourmaline, Dreamhouse Emerald, Dreamhouse Pearl, and Dreamhouse Amethyst.
The eight, limited-edition Barbie x Joybird furniture frames include: Dreamhouse Ainsley Sofa, Dreamhouse Diane Modular Chaise Sectional, Dreamhouse Bell Chair, Dreamhous Mya Chair, Dreamhouse Ainsley Ottoman, Dreamhouse Diane Curved Ottoman, Dreamhouse Dania Bed, and the Dreamhouse Miller Sleeper Sofa.
