IMC, in turn, postpones the winter Las Vegas Market to April 11-15, summer market to Aug. 22-26; High Point Premarket moves to April 25-27
HIGH POINT — The High Point Market Authority is postponing the spring Market, originally slated for April 17-21, to June 5-9, recognizing both supply chain issues disrupting furniture shipments and COVID-19 vaccines that will take a while to reach the broad population.
International Market Centers, in turn, has shifted dates for both its winter and summer Las Vegas markets—to April 11-15 and Aug. 22-26, respectively. The High Point Premarket committee later announced the March event will move to April 25-27.
“While our safety measures proved effective this past fall, allowing more time this upcoming spring for the pandemic situation to improve and travel restrictions to ease makes sense,” said Dudley Moore, Jr., HPMA board chairman and president of Otto & Moore.
“The industry will also benefit from a few additional weeks for product manufacturing and shipping. Our paramount objective of prioritizing the health and safety of both industry members and the High Point community remains, while also allowing us to continue supporting ongoing business.”
Registration for the market will open in late February at www.highpointmarket.org. The following fall High Point Market remains scheduled for October 16-20.
Earlier this year, HPMA canceled the 2020 spring market in the face of the ongoing pandemic, but it was replaced in mid-June by a so-called “mini-market,” organized by exhibitors and reportedly well-received by participating vendors and retailers.
