GhostBed partners with Cozzia to launch latest innovation in mattress massage functionality

PLANTATION, Fla. – Online bed-in-a-box resource GhostBed announced it is partnering with massage chair manufacturer Cozzia to launch what it describes as “the industry’s first mattress that offers a true massage.”

The companies said that the Ghost Massage Bed Powered by Cozzia features air-cell mechanisms that give the user a therapeutic massage that targets major pressure points. This is similar to features in Cozzia’s massage chair line that also offers massage functionality.

Retailing at $2,999 in queen, the mattress features two individual massage pads that are individually remote controlled, which allows individuals on either side of the bed to control their preferred level of massage comfort.

There are a total of six zones for the neck, shoulders, upper and lower back, glutes and legs and each unit has multiple pre-programmed modes for various therapeutic benefits, including full-body massage and stretching as well as a range of massage intensity.

In addition, the companies said that the separate massaging units allow individuals to experience a “targeted, or whole-body massage without any motion transfer.”

“Cozzia’s air cell technology allows us to incorporate our therapeutic full-body massage into a mattress which is undetectable when the bed is powered off,” said Cozzia CEO Mark Holmes. “This mattress offers the best of GhostBed comfort and quality combined with unrivaled Cozzia technology. It is truly the best of both worlds.”

The partnership arose from a visit that GhostBed Executive Vice President Alan Hirschhorn made to Cozzia’s High Point showroom.

“During High Point Market in 2021, I visited the Cozzia showroom and experienced an amazing massage in one of their chairs,” Hirschhorn said. “Having had two back surgeries, I commented to Cozzia’s CEO Mark Holmes that it would be amazing if we could incorporate the Cozzia technology into a mattress. Mark immediately agreed, and the first-ever true massaging bed was born right then and there. Since then, we have been working with Cozzia to perfect our new product together.”

Featuring a comfort gel memory foam layer called the GhostFlex Transition foam, the new massage bed offers a 10-, 20- or 30-minute massage and automatically powers off after the massage.

“We are constantly looking for new innovations to provide our consumers with quality comfort,” Hirschhorn said. “While vibrating beds were popular decades ago, our mattress is completely different and offers the sleeper a massage with an incredible amount of control. We envision sleepers coming home from a stressful day or week, enjoying a spa-like massage in their home, and receiving an incomparable sleep.”

In addition to queen sizes, the mattresses will be available in twin extra-long, king and California king. GhostBed will host a private, invitation-only launch of the new products on Jan. 28 at the Las Vegas Market at its showroom in B980 of the World Market Center.
