Johnston Casuals hosting celebration of life for Stu Ravkind

HIGH POINT — Family, friends and colleagues of legendary sales rep Stu Ravkind will have a celebration of life event at the Johnston Casuals showroom during the April High Point Market.

Ravkind died Dec. 16, 2023, at age 81. He had a 57-year career as a sales rep in the furniture industry and attended his 114th market in High Point this past October.

In his obituary, he was quoted on his 81st birthday stating, “For many years, my gumbo of life has consisted of the blues, furniture and horses. Music is why I am younger than my children, furniture is why I will never retire and horses are why I will never have enough money.”

The celebration at market will take place from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, April 12, at the Johnston Casuals showroom in Space 330 of 220 Elm.

“We invite you to join us in a heartfelt celebration of life for our beloved Stu Ravkind,” the company said. “Stu was not only a cornerstone of Johnston Casuals for over four decades, but a vibrant spirit who touched all of our lives profoundly.

“This gathering will be a time to share drinks, snacks and, most importantly, the stories and laughter that Stu so generously shared with us all. His love for life, music, family and friends was infectious, and we aim to honor that spirit by coming together in remembrance. Stu never saw a stranger and approached life with a heart full of joy. As we celebrate Stu, let’s carry forward his legacy of love, laughter and living life to the fullest.”
