Veteran bedding journalist David Perry has joined Bedding News Now as editor at large, a new position.
Perry, who has been covering the mattress industry for four decades, will write a weekly column for Bedding News Now beginning next month. He will attend the July Las Vegas Market and other key industry events throughout the year.

“I’m looking forward to working closely with Alex Milstein, editor-in-chief of Bedding News Now,” Perry said. “Together we offer the most experienced reporting team in the mattress industry, one that will continue to provide mattress leaders with the day-to-day news and insights they need to make profitable business decisions in a rapidly changing marketplace.”
“Dave was one of my mentors when I was first introduced to the mattress industry several years ago,” Milstein said. “I welcome him to his new home and am excited to work with him as he shares his critical business observations with our growing audience of mattress executives.”
Rick Harrison, founding publisher of Home News Now and Bedding News Now, said Perry’s addition to the team represents an expansion of the company’s commitment to the mattress category.
“Dave has significantly contributed to the growth and stature of the mattress industry over the years through his passionate devotion to the men and women in the United States and around the world who make, market and sell mattresses,” Harrison said. “I’ve worked with Dave for years and know that the respect he has earned from industry leaders will serve us well as we deepen our coverage of the mattress category.”
Perry joined the home furnishings industry in 1983 at Furniture Today. He began covering the mattress industry in the mid-1980s before moving into management roles at the publication, eventually serving as executive editor. He returned full time to the mattress beat in 2001 and remained there until he left Furniture Today in 2020.
He then joined BedTimes and Sleep Savvy, publications of the International Sleep Products Association, serving as editor at large from 2021 until 2023.
“It will be great to work with Alex, Rick and with Tom Russell, editor-in-chief of Home News Now,” Perry said. “This is a strong, seasoned group of industry veterans committed to providing excellent reporting to the mattress industry and the broader home furnishings sector.”
