Pleasant Mattress reinforces its position in value-based product with new Spring Air line

10 New Mattress Models Priced From $399 To $1,199

FRESNO, Calif. – Pleasant Mattress, a leading independent mattress manufacturer, is launching a Spring Air-branded line of bedding priced to appeal to value-conscious consumers. The collection – consisting of 10 models that retail at less than $1,200 – is specifically designed to give smaller independent dealers a nationally-branded line that both meets the needs of consumers in the market for value-priced mattresses as well as differentiating the retailers from larger bedding chains that carry other major “S” brands.

The new collection marks a renewed focus on the value segment for Pleasant Mattress, which services many dealers that are one- to five-store operations.

“We have always had a presence in value-priced bedding, but for the past few years, we have been building out the luxury segment of our portfolio,” said Rion Morgenstern, chief executive officer of Pleasant Mattress. “The pandemic, and the effect it is having on segments of the economy, reminded us that value-based product under $1,200 is still where the velocity is in the market for independent dealers. The new Spring Air line enables us to provide our retailers with a new look and nationally recognized brand at the value price points their customers want.

“Even though our dealers still cater to the luxury segment, they also need to provide solutions for their value-conscious customers as well,” Morgenstern added. “This collection reflects a forward-thinking pricing model driven by the fact that we need to respond to the change in the economy by designing products that fit consumers’ needs right now.”

The new line consists of three separate collections. At the entry-level price range is the Fundamentals collection retailing from $399 to $499 in queen, consisting of the PineMaple and Oak models, in both plush and firm comfort choices; and the Elm bed, available in plush, firm and Euro pillowtop. The mid-price-level collection is called Tradition and includes two models, Monet and Matisse, both in plush and firm, and ranging in price from $599 to $699 in queen. The upper-tier-price collection is the Evolution, consisting of the DracoLyraOrion and Phoenix models – all of which are hybrids ranging in price from $599 to $1,199 for queen.

The Fundamentals line is manufactured with fills consisting of several comfort levels of foam with the exception of the Elm model, which is made with Dacron polyester. The Evolution collection combines high-quality specialty foam with pocket springs to conform to the body’s shape, thus enhancing the level of comfort. The Tradition line is filled with quilt foams of varying levels of firmness, and is made with a heavyweight, four-way stretch-knit fabric, which helps the mattress conform to the body to optimize the comfort level.
