Unifi’s Bolick takes HNN on a quick tour of Repreve 

The maker fiber and yarn made from recycled plastic bottles is helping make upholstery sustainable

HIGH POINT —  Chad Bolick, vice president for Greensboro, N.C.-based Unifi, couldn’t tell us exactly how many water bottles went in the manufacture of a Sunpan Modern Home chair on display in the green Repreve truck parked on Commerce, just off South Main Street. But he did walk Home News Now through the process of how those clear and blue plastic bottles turn into the Repreve fibers and yarn in that fabric. He also names other vendors at Market (and in the truck) that buyers should visit if they want to meet the consumers’ growing demand for sustainable home furnishings.
