HIGH POINT – Industry veteran Jack Richardson has been named to the new position of vice president of sales at motion upholstery manufacturer Barcalounger.
Richardson started the job about two weeks ago, reporting to Larry Smith, president and chief executive officer. In his new position, Richardson oversees the company’s sales force, helping the company grow its business across various retail channels of distribution.
Richardson was most recently owner of Greensboro, North Carolina-based furniture retailer Hot Buys LLC.
Before that, he was senior vice president of sales at case goods importer Home Insights, a role in which he added 12 sales reps covering 22 states. In this role, he also developed 30 major accounts, contributing to an overall $28 million sales increase, according to his LinkedIn profile.
Before this, he worked for more than 14 years at La Z Boy, serving as senior vice president of sales and marketing for the entire division, as well as president of American Drew. During his tenure, he was responsible for the operational and financial performance of American Drew, Lea Inds. and Hammary.
Before this, he was vice president of sales at American Drew and before joining American Drew, he was vice president of sales at Universal Furniture. In each of his major sales positions, he led the sales teams and helped grow the business throughout the country.
