Product highlights from October Market

Throughout the Market, Home News Now visited numerous showrooms to get a glimpse of some of the many introductions in case goods and upholstery. As always, the experience left us with plenty of material, not to mention style trends, for us to showcase for our readers across many product categories.

Below is a look at some of those pieces that retailers will start flooring in the next six months as inventory levels come down and make room for the best and most innovative products the industry has to offer.

Primo International expanded its partnership with Tempur Sealy International with the launch of a Sealy licensed line, featuring a wide range of casual foam loungers and office chairs. This was in addition to an expanded assortment of Stearns & Foster-branded furniture officially launched in Las Vegas this past summer.

AICO’s Carmela was one of 20 new collections introduced here, part of the the largest upholstery launch in the company’s history. The elegant kidney-shaped sofas feature brass accents, toss pillows in contrasting jacquard fabrics, and pillow jewelry elements. This scene features a mansion sofa and regular-size sofa (retail about $2,999), paired with a Carmela table in brass-plated stainless steel with a beveled inset glass in a pearlized finish.

Handy Living reimagined and re-engineered the manufacturer and packaging of upholstery to come to Market with designs like this modular sectional. Not only will this configuration fit (in seven boxes) in a Toyota RAV4 SUV, it’s also boxed for maximum container shipping efficiency and features performance fabric covers, Certi-Pur foam and FSC-certified lumber. It is designed to retail for $1,799 at a long margin.

Hickory White showed its Bethesda upholstered bed featuring a deep, button-tufted design. It was shown alongside the Mims chests that are seen here doubling as nightstands featuring deep and wide three-drawer construction. The group was shown on the third floor of the newly renovated Sherrill Furniture showroom at 315 Fred Alexander Place.

Best Home Furnishings showed this three-piece motion sofa, loveseat and chair group at market. It did well with dealers who liked the scale and its deep-seated comfort and functionality.

This large-scale sectional is part of Century Furniture’s Great Room line. Shown with a cocktail in the company’s Details custom case goods line, it can be configured in many different footprints. Also available in multiple fabrics and leathers, it is shown here in fabric and leather, further illustrating the versatility of the custom line.

This bed is part of Legacy Classic / Modern’s casual traditional Kingston collection. Featuring a relaxed, distressed finish, it is designed to complement a variety of style preferences from farmhouse to traditional popular in both coastal and mountain homes. The bed shown here also has an optional storage footboard.

This rectangular dining table is part of Lexington Home Brands’ 36-piece Zanzibar collection. Made with quartered white oak veneers, it is shown in a two-tone Warm Taupe finish with the base and chair frames in a Deep Espresso tone. Surfaces are wire-brushed to enhance the wood grain, and case pieces feature custom hardware in a Dark Umber finish. A table and four chairs retails at $8,499.

This 50-inch round dining table by Artistica is made with fossilized clam shells and features a live-edge design. It is shown with the fully upholstered Carly dining chairs.

This seating vignette is part of Ocean Breeze, one of the latest Tommy Bahama outdoor collections at Lexington Home Brands. It features frames made with a synthetic weave and deep-seated cushions for added comfort. It is shown with companion accent tables and a companion cocktail table at the center featuring a tinted blue glass top.

Bassett Furniture showed its Clyde sectional at the front of its showroom at Market. Retailing at $3,999, it is shown with a cocktail table that is part of its domestically made Bench Made line. Made with a solid oak frame and white oak veneers, it retails at $1,299.

American Woodcrafters showed its Capri bedroom, which features this tufted upholstered bed which retails at $1,499. Showcasing European traditional design elements, it is available in a Distressed Ivory finish.

Thirty One I Twenty One, a division of Magnussen Home, showed several new dining sets as part of its case goods mix at Market. This standalone group is made with walnut veneers and has midcentury-modern design elements. Seating six comfortably, this 80-inch table and four chairs retails at $1,299.

This round dining table and companion wood-framed upholstered chair set is part of Klaussner’s Empire collection. Retailing at $999, the set is made with quartered white oak veneers and is shown in a Natural finish. Its modern design elements are further illustrated by brushed nickel hardware seen throughout the 27-piece collection.

Flexsteel debuted its new Zecliner line at Market. Designed for sit-and-sleep functionality, a starting unit retails from $1,499 to $1,699 and a step-up version featuring additional support and functionality retails from $1,799 to $1,999.

This dresser is part of Lifestyle Enterprise’s 8360A bedroom. It was one of 29 new bedrooms the company showed at Market, one of the largest introductions in company history. A defining element of the collection is LED lighting around the top edges of case pieces and headboard frames. While lighting in headboards is not new to the market, lighting around the tops of case pieces is a new development in the industry and Lifestyle is one of the first to show it in its line.

Meximuebles, a case goods manufacturer based in the Guadalajara region of Mexico, showed new bedrooms and companion storage pieces at Market. Made with solid wood species such as parota and pine, the company’s mix included bedroom and home entertainment furniture, which are among its core product categories.

This low-profile sectional was among the many new upholstery frames Canadian manufacturer Palliser showed at Market. It is displayed here with a companion ottoman with cushioned seating for extra comfort. The company also showcased its new Gallery display, which includes a design center featuring multiple fabric and leather options.

This is a portion of the Royal Classics display area at the New Classics showroom. The lineup includes eight groupings with bedroom, dining room and occasional furniture as well as companion upholstery. Royal Classics features classic European traditional design elements such as highly carved frames seen on sofas, beds and case pieces, curved and carved legs on occasional and dining tables, and deep-seated button-tufted designs on upholstery.

Home office remains an important part of many companies’ lines. This writing desk, chair and companion file cabinets are part of Sligh’s Langley collection. The wood pieces have a Painted Ivory finish and also sport hardware and metal accents in a Rose Gold finish. The file cabinets also have locking drawers.
