Furniture industry veteran has more than 20 years experience in product development and brand leadership
LITTLE ROCK, Ark. — Home furnishings resource Park Hill Collection has named industry veteran Randy Wells president.
He comes to the company from luxury furniture resources Casa Ispirata and Cavalletto Home, where he worked for nearly four years as senior vice president and creative director.
Before that, he was a principal at Garrett & Wells, a creative consultancy firm serving the furniture industry. Previously, he was vice president of creative and product design at Stanley Furniture and before that was CEO at Gloster America.
He also previously was vice president of the Las Vegas Design Center and held leadership roles at Valtekz Composite Fabrics and Century Furniture.
“Randy’s proven track record of success in crafting brand strategies and identifying retail and designer customer and market needs will be an incredible asset to Park Hill Collection as it continues its journey to become a one-stop shop for higher-end home furnishings, furniture and décor to independently owned retailers and designers,” the company said.
In his new position, the company said, Wells will be responsible for all business units within Park Hill. He also will work closely with the company’s management team and company parent The Gerson Co. to implement the company’s strategic vision and growth initiatives. The Gerson Co. announced its acquisition of Park Hill this past February.
He reports to JJ Hjalmarson, vice president at The Gerson Companies. JJ is a fourth generation member of the Gerson family and served as interim co-president of Park Hill along with Jacob Gerson, vice president, sales and customer experience at the Gerson Companies, since the acquisition.
“We are thrilled to welcome Randy to the Park Hill team,” Gerson said. “When we launched our search for a new president after our recent acquisition of Park Hill, we aligned that we were looking for an individual who had a proven track record in brand strategy, product development and sales. Randy checks all of those boxes, and we can’t wait to see this new chapter of Park Hill’s future unfold under his leadership.”
Hjalmarson, who oversees key accounts and e-commerce, added, “As we have gotten to know the existing Park Hill team over the last three months, we are extremely excited about the direction of the company and market positioning. We feel that with Randy at the helm, Park Hill can reach new heights and continue to thrill customers with wonderful product at competitive pricing.”
