Woodstock Furniture & Mattress opens its 6th location in Covington, Georgia

Retailer says the new store will address significant demand in this part of north Georgia

COVINGTON, Ga. — Woodstock Furniture & Mattress has opened its sixth location overall and its largest satellite store here, which aims to serve consumers in the North Georgia market with a mix of well-known furniture and bedding brands.

Located in a former Walmart store at 9218 Highway 278, the estimated 55,000-square-foot building is in the newly refurbished Eastside Shopping Center on the east side of Covington, which has a population of roughly 14,500.

The company said the new location will address significant market demand in and around this part of the region.

“We noticed a real void in the market when it came to servicing this particular part of Georgia,” said JR Aaron, founder of Woodstock Furniture & Mattress Outlet. “We would have customers driving from Covington and its surrounding areas to shop on a regular basis. With the new location, we can service North Georgia, and beyond, in its entirety.”

Although just over half the size of the company’s largest store in Woodstock/Ackworth, Georgia, it is the largest of its satellite locations, including its Dallas, Georgia, store, which is around 38,600 square feet. The retailer also operates a satellite location in Rome and has two mattress outlets in Douglasville and Canton, plus a distribution center in Ackworth, Georgia, that services its various locations.

The new Covington location sells a wide mix of living room, bedroom and dining furniture as well as rugs, mattresses and accessories. Major furniture brands sold at Woodstock Furniture & Mattress include Ashley, Best Home Furnishings, Magnussen, Bernhardt, Legacy Classic, Moto Motion and Universal, to name several. Key bedding brands include Nectar, Purple, Stearns & Foster, Sealy, DreamCloud and Tempur-Pedic.

The Covington store also features an in-house Design Center, where customers can customize their own furniture.

A grand-opening and ribbon-cutting event at the Covington location is planned in June.
