HIGH POINT — Industry veteran Roland Maddrey has been named senior vice president of sales at upholstery manufacturer Digio Leather Sofas.
He occupies a role most recently held by Peter Halunen, who left the company earlier this year for a merchandising position at Royal Morris Living, a division of Morris Home.
Maddrey started with the company on Sept. 1. In his new position, he will create and execute a strategic plan to grow sales and manage the sales team for the Digio and Ambiente brands in the U.S., Canada and Mexico.
He comes to the company from Casa Ispirata and Cavaletto Home, where he was vice president of sales. Before that he was key account manager at Sunpan. He also previously has held executive sales positions at A.R.T. Furniture, Samuel Lawrence Furniture and Universal Furniture.
Maddrey said that he is excited about the opportunity and the chance to work with the Digio family of brands.
“This is a progressive company with excellent Italian design and execution of seating, style and comfort,” he told Home News Now. “I believe we have great opportunity to expand our distribution with our leather stationary, motion and sleeper business in the U.S. and elsewhere.”
