Ethnicraft sees new hq, distribution center supporting growth in North American market

175,000-square-foot building with offices, a showroom and a warehouse/distribution center to be completed next year

HIGH POINT — Ethnicraft USA’s new headquarters building here aims to serve customers in North America with a larger inventory of product that is also expected to ship more quickly.

The facility also will offer showroom space that customers can visit year-round, affording them the chance to see new product not just during markets, but whenever they are in town.

The company announced last week that it is investing $18 million in a new 175,000-square-foot headquarters, showroom and distribution center that is expected to open next year. Located in the Gallimore Industrial Center on Gallimore Dairy Road, the facility will have a 155,000-square-foot warehouse along with 10,000 square feet devoted to offices and another 10,000 square feet for the year-round showroom.

When completed, it will add 25 jobs to the nearly 50 the Belgian-based company has added to its ranks since it first entered the North American market about six years ago.

It also will replace a facility the company owns on Taylor Avenue in High Point. In addition, the company operates three warehouse facilities that total 77,000 square feet, including two leased properties that are 25,000 and 30,000 square feet respectively and a 22,000-square-foot company-owned facility.

“We are really excited to bring more of the Ethnicraft brand to the U.S., where we can provide even better service to our customers,” said Stephane Huybrechts, chief operating officer of Ethnicraft USA. “With the new warehouse facility, we will continue to have a healthy level of stock and be able to ship quickly.”

Formed in Antwerp, Belgium, 25 years ago, the company produces a line that includes solid wood bedroom, dining room, occasional and home entertainment furniture as well as stationary upholstery and outdoor furniture.

It also has a line of accessories that includes wall décor, rugs, indoor and outdoor cushions, sculptures, trays and tray tables, candle holders and lighting, to name several core product segments.
